Get ready... Get set...

GO!!! NaNoWriMo began today at midnight. This is my third try at trying to write a novel in a month. While I'm optimistic that I'll finish it, I'm not as optimistic as the previous years. I've learned that I become easily distracted. That's probably because of my ADHD >.< So, this year, I'm going to do my best to finish. Hopefully it'll be enough that even if I don't finish, I'll be close enough that I can finish it quickly on my own ^_^

It begins

NaNoWriMo - National Novel Writing Month. It's held every November. And, for the past couple of weeks I've been receiving emails announcing that it is coming up. I joined late two years ago and didn't have time to write anything interesting. Last year, I attempted it again, but again, never had anything worthy of turning in. Oh, you don't turn your work in to be graded or judged, you turn it in for the word count. Fifty thousand or more words is considered a novel and if you work has that, then you get a cookie ^_^ Actually you get a certificate with your name and such on it. The first year, I never came close to the word count. Last year, I think I was close but I lost track of the deadline and never turned it for an official total.  Will this year be the charm? I probably should get an idea nailed down for the novel. I kind of liked last year's story but I'm thinking of a different way to tell it. Hmm, I don't think it's the story but the main character that I find interesting. I'd like to explore here a little more. I also have been toying with a different character that I would also like to explore. The first character exists in a futuristic universe; the second character, in present day Earth.

The rain's let up so I can make a break for home now ^_^
