Finals are done!

They were pretty much a breeze today like the others ^_^ The worse part is now to come: waiting. Waiting for the end of school. We have two more days left and there's nothing left to do o.o I got a taste of what's to come today when I got to sit in all the class that I had already taken the finals in. o.o But anyway, just two days left ^_^ Time to celebrate! ^_^ And that's just what happened at Lee's tonight.

I was over at his house just hanging out when his brother and older sister got back from the picking up Chinese for dinner. Tons of food plus, they also stopped and picked up cupcakes and graduation napkins and plates and stuff like that. And soon a party sprung up ^_^ We still had school tomorrow, so I had to leave before everything was over. And, according to the txtmsgs from Lee, the party seemed to ended a little bit after he and his sister brought me home. But! It was a blast while it lasted ^_^

More finals

Another two finals are done and gone: short stories and music theory ^_^ That leaves Intro to Languages and Intro to Computer Animation for tomorrow. Friday is the last day to turn in projects. What's horrible is that the last day of school is not Friday, but next Monday >.< But that's going to be mostly celebrations ^_^

Three more days

One day of finals is over, now three remain ^_^ Calculus was easy as was chemistry ^_^ I heard a few groans from some of the other students during the tests. A few panicked as their timed ran out.

Not much else to say about today. Once I got out of school, it was mostly just a lazy afternoon followed by dance class.

Memorial Day

We did the cookout today. Mom, myself, and granddad. Lee and Hannah and Yvonne and Kyle came over towards the end. Probably for the ice cream ^_^ Alice was also here for awhile. Overall, it was a good cookout ^_^ Hamburgers, hot dogs, corn, potato chips, etc., etc., etc. ^_^ Hannah spent a good portion of time playing games on my iPad. She had fun ^_^ We all had fun ^_^

Beach day ^_^

Mom and I did the beach this morning ^_^ Yvonne and her brothers were there just like last year ^_^ Mom worked on her tan and Yvonne's brothers, Mark and Rob, fished most of the morning. Yvonne and I worked on our tans for a bit too, but spent most of the time snorkling by the rocks.

After mom and I got home, we finished up the shopping and finished making the ice cream for tomorrow. We each had a taste. It's going to be soooo good ^_^

Three day weekend!

YaY! This is a three day weekend ^_^

After Lee left this morning, mom and I went out and did the shopping for the Memorial Day cookout. It's going to be a normal cookout with hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, potato chips, etc., etc., etc. ^_^ We're even going to make our own ice cream ^_^ This is going to be a great Memorial Day. Unless it rains o.o It rained just a tad bit this morning but quit once the sun was fully shining. It's thundering now but no rain so far.

Anyway, after dinner tonight, I got mom to drop me off at the beach with Lee and his family. Saturday night is the drummers at the beach. I love listening to the drums ^_^ I had a blast dancing to the drums ^_^ Afterwards, Lee's dad dropped me off at home. So here I am now ^_^

Thunderstorms and tornadoes o.o

Apparently we had tornadoes around us last night o.o No watches. No warnings. Nothing. We didn't find out about them until after they were gone >.< Luckily no one was hurt and there was almost no damage and such ^_^

Tonight, just after dinner, thunderstorms came in and the news stations sent out alerts about sever weather. It grew dark and that's a couple of hours before sunset. Then the winds picked up and the rain. Sheets and sheets of rain blown by the wind, almost sideways at times o.o And thunder, loud, heart stopping thunder claps. The six of us (Lee, mom, Sasha, Jack, Tom, and me), sat in the living room watching and listening o.o Mom had her laptop on and was watching the weather maps. After about an hour, the worse of the storm was over and we kind of spread out more. Mom said that there was no tornadoes this time ^_^ Lee and I turned on Netflix and are watching some more Doctor Who. Mom's in her room. Sasha and the dogs are probably in my room. No, Jack's in with mom and Tom's in the kitchen munching on dry food ^_^

Downtown and the beach

After dinner, I'm going to meet up with Lee and my friends downtown. I'm not sure what we'll do downtown, maybe just hang out at the park. And then maybe we'll end up at the beach for a sunset ^_^ The water is warmer now and swimmable ^_^ I doubt that we'll do that tonight, but Saturday I might ^_^ Yeah, lots of smiles in this post ^_^ I'm in a good mood for no reason at all. But there's nothing wrong with not having a reason to be happy ^_^ LOL ^_^

Anyway, mom will be home in about 30 mins and then we can get dinner ready ^_^

Quick post

This is going to be a quick post like the title says ^_^

Got together with a group of kids and helped them study for finals. Some of them are in dire need of study. And some really didn't need to be there at all. I think they're there because they wanted the practice. I'd do the same ^_^


Did dance class tonight with Lee's mom and little sister. We had fun ^_^

Finals week is fast approaching

Well, it's coming, Finals Week. Screaming, crying, disbelief, etc. That's what was all around me today even though it starts Friday. lol ^_^ I turned in my Honors projects for calculus and short stories today. I still have my CG modelling and drawing projects to turn in, probably tomorrow. And probably the remaining three projects Wednesday. Some of my classes are reviewing for our finals and some are just continuing along teaching new stuff until the last minute o.o I usually don't study in the normal sense. The way I go over what I learned is to help other people study. Use or lose it. By teaching others, I'm using it. It'll probably be gone by this fall since there's no real need to use it during the summer.

Thai Buddhist Temple

Mom, granddad, and I went to the Thai Buddhist Temple, Wat Mongkolratanaram, in Tampa today. It was awesome ^_^ Actually, we didn't do the Temple, we did the food which they have every Sunday. It was crowed but not with old people like everywhere else. The food smelled wonderful ^_^ I got a huge bowl of pork soup and stick sweet rice wrapped in banana leaves. They were yummy ^_^ Mom got like a huge serving of crumbs from fried plantains and a piece of coconut cake. They were so good ^_^ Granddad probably would have got every thing if we didn't pull him away LOL ^_^ The weather was perfect and since there were huge oak trees everywhere, if you got hot you could sit in the shade with a breeze ^_^

I'm hoping we can do it again. There were so many things I wanted to try. Maybe next time, I'll go inside the temple. ^_^

Thunderstorms

It attempted to thunderstorm today but never go much further than rumbling and big clouds. Oh well, soon I'll be hiding from the dogs. They're afraid of thunder and attempt to crawl in my lap. They're BIG dogs and I'm tiny O.O lol But I love them <3 ^_^
After my friends went home this morning and I got back from my run, I got on my opensim server and built things the rest of the morning Around noon, mom and I finished off the last of the pizza (Friday are pizza night). We then did yard work and I washed mom's car for her. We did leftovers for dinner and I got a ride from mom to the beach to meet Lee.
Even with the threat of thunderstorms, the drummers were there. I so love dancing to their rhythms and beats ^_^ I get lost in it and just forget everything except maybe Lee. I know he's watching me and I dance just for him. It was wonderful tonight ^_^

Movie night

It's movie night ^_^ Actually Netflix night ^_^ Lee's here and Yvonne and Kyle and we're doing another Dr Who marathon YaY ^_^ It's intermission. I have popcorn in the microwave and doing a quick post here before starting the next episode. I think the drummers will be on the beach tomorrow night. I hope so, because that's where I met Lee and it's been like forever since I danced to them and for Lee ^_^ Oh, popcorn's done! ^_^

Honors Projects and Finals

School is coming to an end now and everything is also coming due o.o Seven honors projects and seven finals O.O I'm going to be so freaking busy the next few weeks. High school is almost as easy as middle school, but not quite. Things seem to be more intense. And that's how I like them ^_^

Boring day

Rainy day. Cloudy day. Gray day. Yup, that about sums up today weatherwise anyway o.o

Not much to say tonight. Lee had to help his dad tonight, so no him. At least his dad pays him. But then Lee goes and spends it on me o.o I kind of wish he wouldn't. I don't want him using all his money on me o.o But, it's nice to know he's willing to ^_^ <3 ^_^

Second Life, sort of

A while back, my mom set up an OpenSim server for me to play around on. OpenSim is a free version of Second Life. Actually, it's the server that you log into. Second Life is free to play, but you have to be at least 17 or 18 to play. Since I was no where near that old, mom set up a private server just for me ^_^ I was playing on it for a long time then got distracted and only logged in once in awhile.  Anyway, I logged in to it after school and suddenly remembered why I wanted to play. You can create almost anything there ^_^ In fact, that's how I started learning about 3D graphics and Blender.  Some of the stuff I created looks quite lame now. But there's some that looks awesome ^_^ I'll probably play on it again after dance class if I get home early enough. I wanted to take some snapshots but my client seems to be borking them on me >.<

Cloudy Monday

It was gray and cloudy almost all day. But we never got any rain. It was kind of depressing. I need sun or rain, not just gray clouds. I do hear thunder outside now. So maybe we'll get rain before the morning ^_^

I didn't do much today so there's not much to say. I did take the dogs out running with me, but that's normal. Sasha is sleeping on my alarm clock. Well, she's using my alarm clock as a pillow ^_^ It's been awhile since I heard my clock go off. I usually get up way before it's set to go off. Thank you doggies >.< LOL ^_^

Happy Mothers' Day!!!

Since today was Mothers' Day, mom basically did nothing other than the grocery shopping. I did the laundry (still am doing it), the dishes, and even cooked dinner for her tonight ^_^ We had homemade pasta with marinara and garlic bread. All of it made from scratch by me ^_^ I pretty good at doing it, well, that's what mom says ^_^

Almost Summer

The water is still to cold to swim in in the mornings. But soon, mom and I will be able to do our traditional Saturday morning beach breakfasts again ^_^ I'm sure Yvonne and her brothers will be there too. In fact, her brothers are probably already going to get some fishing in ^_^

After Lee left this morning, I took the dogs out running and got back and cleaned up in time to go shopping with mom. It was the typical places: the  bookstore, craft store, farmers' market, etc. We haven't been doing the Asian market lately because mom can stop there on the way home o.o I love the Asian market. So much cool stuff ^_^ Maybe once Summer starts officially, we'll start doing the market on Saturdays again ^_^

Summer camps and things

Last year, I went to a summer camp in the Everglades. It was awesome! The year before, I did an art summer camp and it was fun ^_^ This year, I want to do both and a music summer camp with Lee. I also want to help out with the kids at the art center like I did last summer. So many things to do and such a short summer o.o A few more weeks and summer will be here. Mom says I need to decide o.o

Thinking fingers

I noticed that I tend to use my middle finger to point and press buttons and such more than I do my index finger. However, I do use my index finger almost 100% of the time when I'm feeling and examining something.

I started thinking about how this might be some sort of evolutionary thing. In the future, human index fingers might evolve to become some sort of super sensitive digit, maybe even like a feeler or an antenna. Maybe our hands would look something like those of an aye-aye with our index fingers being almost useless except for sensing. o.O

Sad book

"Megume and the Trees" by Sarah Toshiko Hasu is about an Asian-American girl who lives with her dad, "evil" step mom, and little brother. One day, she is coming home and swears she hears her dog barking in the woods. The problem is that her dog was sent to pound long ago and is most likely dead. Deciding that the barking was really her lost dog, she charges into the woods, chasing it. Eventually she catches the dog which turns out to be her dog. The story follows Megume as she attempts to find her way out of the forest. As she moves through the forest, she encounters unusual events and scenes such as a lost boy that reminds her of her brother, a Japanese style house, a bombing raid from WWII, her long dead grandfather, and the like. She eventually finds her way out by following a river. The story ends kind of on a sad note. Throughout the story are copies of letters from Megume's bestie, Emiko who happens to be in France at the moment. The letters start out happy and perky but start turning sad until eventually, the final letter. This letter helps explain everything. I know Megume is okay, but feel very sad for Emiko in the end.

Baby microwave

Our microwave died o.o So mom got a new one tonight. It's so small, so cute ^_^

Dance class was a blast as always ^_^ Hannah was so silly and kept trying to crack me up. She was successful a few times LOL ^_^

The end of the school year is very soon o.o Final projects will start coming due. Honors projects will start coming due. Then, final exams o.o The year went so fast. I guess it's true that time flies when you're having fun. But it needs to slow down so I can have even more fun ^_^

Weekend summary

About the weekend...

Around 8am, Lee left for his house and I started getting ready for my dad. He got here about an hour later. I spent all day Saturday and Sunday with him. Actually, he spent both days and Saturday night with me ^_^ Saturday we did my birthday party. There were eight of us: my dad and mom, Lee and Hannah, Yvonne, Kyle, and Alice. Oh, and Tom and Jack and Sasha ^_^

Hannah gave me a friendship bracelet that she made herself. She got one of those craft kits, but didn't like the color string that was included. So she used her own string and beads. It looks like one of those things you would rather die than wear: bright, neon colors. It was PERFECT!!! I loved it and am wearing it now <3 ^_^ I wish I had it for graduation last year, it would have gone perfect with my neon nail polish and ribbons woven in my hair ^_^ Thank you Hannh! <3 ^_^

Yvonne gave me this beautiful choker that she made. Think goth plus steampunk and you have a good idea what it looks like ^_^ Her brothers gave me a voucher for "driving lessons." They took Yvonne and me out to the abandoned back roads and taught us to drive their dying Jeep ^_^ We were pretty good by the end of the day ^_^ Now that I'm 15, they can do it again, this time without being as sneaky ^_^ Thank you Yvonne and family <3 ^_^

Kyle gave me a couple of Reggae CDs that we played for most of the day ^_^ Thank you Kyle <3 ^_^

Alice gave me a sister to the beany baby puppy she gave me last year. She's so cute! LOL ^_^ Thank you Alice <3 ^_^

Both my dad and mom gave me gift cards, Visa gift cards that can be used anywhere ^_^ My mom also gave me my party. My dad gave me himself <3

Saturday was mostly my birthday stuff. After everyone left, dad and I went out back and just watched the stars and super moon and talked about stuff. Sunday morning, I cooked breakfast for dad and mom, standard bacon and eggs with buttered toast and coffee. Then dad and I went out Sunday and just hung out together. I showed him some of my favorite places. We picked up mom and had a sunset picnic for dinner at the beach ^_^ I was already missing my dad by the time the stars came out and he hadn't even left yet o.o I miss you dad and love you too <3

Quick post before bed

I had a blast with my dad this weekend! I wish he was around more. He tries, but lots of times he's not able to come to Florida o.o I need to go before mom gets mad. It's late and I just wanted to do a quick post before bed. I'll try to add more about the weekend in tomorrow's post.

Birthay

Today's my birthday ^_^ I'm 15!!!! Yes! One more year and I can get my learner's permit ^_^ Lee did movie night with us last night. This morning, he wished me Happy Birthday and gave me my present: two silver charms. One is in the shape of a guitar and the other is is musical notes <3 <3 ^_^ My dad will be here in a little while <3 ^_^ I'm so hyped and hyper LOL ^_^

I get to see my dad tomorrow!! ^_^ I'm so hyped ^_^ He won't be getting in until after midnight. Otherwise I would be able to see him tonight. This is going to be so cool... Supermoon and my dad all on the same weekend and all on my birthday ^_^

The Boneshaker

I forgot to mention that I finished another book back on April 26th: "The Boneshaker" by Kate Milford. It's about Natalie Minks, at thirteen year old tomboy, versus the minions of the Devil. I think there might be an angel in the story, but it's also possible that it's a "neutral" demon that just wants to be left alone. There's also a demon so nasty that he was kicked out of Hell O.O Anyway, a plague hits a nearby town and Natalie's town doctor heads over to help out. In the mean time, a travelling medicine show ends up in stuck in Arcane, Natalie's town, because one of their wagons lost a wheel. The medicine show is just plain strange and weird and Natalie and her friends try to find out what it is all about. Oh, the book is named after Natalie's bicycle, the boneshaker. Bikes around the turn of the century still didn't use rubber tires and Natalie's actually had metal tires. They also didn't have chains. They had pedals like little kid's tricycles.

I thought that overall, "The Boneshaker," was a nice read. It seemed slow in some parts and a little predictable in others. It was a stand alone book, but Milford left enough of the end opened that the book could have a sequel. Dribble

It's been windy the past couple of days and even rained a few times. Kind of seems like Autumn or pre Winter weather. Even the air is cool. I hope it's clear and sunny this weekend ^_^ The super moon appears then and my dad ^_^ I want to spend as much time with him as possible <3

Lee doesn't have to work tonight, so I'll be meeting him a little later after my run. And a shower. And a snack lol ^_^

My posts seem to be growing boring and monotonous lately o.o I'll probably read through my old blog later tonight to see where I started changing my posting habits o.o

Dance class tonight

Tuesdays are dance class nights ^_^ Lee's mom takes me and his little sister, Hannah, to class. This isn't a formal class like Ballet and such. It's kind of a new age exercise class and it's extremely FUN! ^_^ Think of free form dance ^_^ Hannah and I have a blast. I love her so much <3 She's a trip ^_^ Afterwards, we all get some junk food, usually McD's or Taco Bell. Sometimes we do DQ ^_^ Kind of funny if you think about it, junk food after exercise lol ^_^
