Head spinning

I can't think straight after tonight o.o

Pizza night. I hung out with Yvonne and Kyle until mom got home with pizza. After quickly eating, I got a ride downtown with mom so I could meet up with Lee. We went to the tea shop again and I did a mocha tonight. I've had a craving for one for awhile now. We talked some then went over to watch the free movie. They do one downtown every Saturday, but had one tonight too. It was "Howl's Moving Castle" one my most favorites. I always cry during it like I did tonight. When Lee saw my tears, he asked if I was alright. I nodded and mumbled "yeah," and without thinking about it, I cuddled up against him and watched the movie. He never said a word about it, never made a "move," just held me and every once in awhile, stroked my hair. I think I'm his and he doesn't even know it. Or doesn't want me. After the movie, we wandered over to the ice cream shop and he bought me a triple chocolate cone. He wouldn't let me pay for it myself. I tried to give him an evil look once we got outside. But all that it got out of him was that he thought my eyes were beautiful. I'm so freaking confused. Even mom noticed something wrong o.o And what did she say? Nothing! She just smiled o.o

Surprises ^_^

This is my guitar except mine is black not red: Emily's Guitar What's awesome about it besides it being mine, is that my dad got the same thing for about $50 from Sam Ash. The receipt was in the packing papers ^_^

Anyway, Lee was waiting to accidently bump into me again after lunch ^_^ Why do I get all giddish and such when he does that? And this is only the second time he's done it o.o It seems like it takes for ever for me to get focused again on class.

Anyway, after school, Yvonne wanted Kyle and me to come over to her house. Her brothers had been working on something and wanted to show it off. So we get there and her brothers are acting as though they don't know what she's talking about. Finally, they break down and lead us around to their workshop. They had gotten a Honda CBR250 put together and working and lowered and customized to Yvonne's size and said it was hers when she got her license O.O Yvonne freaked out! Once Yvonne calmed down and Kyle and I picked up our eyeballs off the ground, they put a huge motorcycle lock on the wheel and gave Yvonne the key so she could start it up. They didn't want her taking off, thus the lock. Yvonne was on it before the key touched her hand. LOL ^_^ They gave her some quick lessons on starting it and such and she did just that. ^_^ Yvonne's eyes just sparkled. She then let Kyle and me try it out. Kyle's way too big for it, but it's perfect for me: Yvonne and I are nearly identical in size ^_^

Afterwards, I went downtown and met up with Lee ^_^ He had his scooter so we went riding ^_^ We talked. He wants to hear me play. He said that maybe he could give me some pointers and such. He wanted me to come over to his house but it was already late and I didn't want to get in trouble by missing curfew. So we said 'bye' and headed back to our own homes.

Worries and new rules

OMG! Lee got worried and came over tonight O.O I was stunned. He said that he didn't see me in school today and that I wasn't responding to his txtmsgs and calls so he came over to check on me O.O Now my mom knows about him >.< Anyway, he has a gas powered scooter and took me cruising around the neighborhood on  it ^_^ There wasn't much room on it so I had to hold him tight. It was difficult to get going but we figured it out ^_^ But, now even the few neighbors that I have know about him o.o When he brought me home, he was low on gas so mom gave him some of ours for the weed eater. Apparently his scooter uses a mix of oil and gas like our weed eater.

Anyway, mom's changing my curfew time. It's been getting dark around 8pm here. So starting Sunday, my curfew on school nights is 8pm and 10pm on non-school nights, unless I have her permission to stay out later. Lee's curfew is 9pm and midnight.

I've been practicing my guitar tonight and I have a new problem. My fingers no longer bother me, but now my wrist does. It gets stiff and sore and a tad painful to move for awhile after I finish. I hope this goes away soon too. I hope there's nothing really wrong o.o Well, the pain has gone away, so back to practicing ^_^

Thinking

After school today, I wandered down to my "thinking pond." That's the pond where I usually just sit and watch and listen and smell as the world goes by, often lost in thought. Of, if I'm lucky, lost in nothingness. Alice must have sixth and seventh senses because she knew that I was just a little confused and exactly where to find me. So we talked for awhile about nothing in particular. Then we went over to her house and talked some more about the way things change, how people change, even me, how we'll always be there for each other, about him, you know, deep stuff that only bffs can talk about. I feel so safe with her. She could always calm me down even when I'm hyper bouncing.

I have a ton of txtmsgs that I haven't looked at yet. They started arriving during Humanities. Since I went into my Humanities class through the teachers' lounge today, I have an idea who the txtmsgs are from. I need to respond or risk losing another.

Comparing notes ^_^

We met up at the park downtown. I got there before him and was spinning in the swing waiting. He said 'hi' and once my eyes stopped spinning around in my head I saw him sitting in the swing next to me. This is the second time that I've seen him in daylight. Hazel eyes that seem to shift from green to brown and back again depending on his mood. Dark hair. Skinny. No, wiry with muscles. Did I mention his hazel eyes? ^_^ He's taller than me by almost a foot.

Anyway, he suggested that we could sit in the tea/coffee shop. I almost never go there because almost everything there is laced with caffeine and mom doesn't like me all hyper and such like I am now O.O LOL But, I did tonight. I found out that his dad sometimes plays guitar there. So we sat and talked and drank mocha and chai. He was doing the mochas. I would have liked a mocha, but it's too hot for that now and the coffee would have sent me bouncing off the walls o.o Instead, I did the iced chais, like three of them. Chai is spiced tea mixed with milk and sugar. People usually drink it hot during the winter, but it's also very good cold ^_^ I'm sure that I've had enough caffeine from them to equal a mocha ^_^

We mostly just talked about nothing in particular. I did ask him why he didn't meet me before Humanities and he said, "Didn't you get my note?" GRRRRR LOL ^_^ When I wasn't talking, I was looking at how his eyes changed color. He finally asked what I was looking at as if there was something on his face and I told him. He pointed out that my eyes do something similar. They don't change color just shades of blue. O.O I never knew that o.O Why hasn't anyone ever told me that before? He also said that I blushed easily. Well, everyone, including me knows that ^_^ He also liked my accent. What accent??? I actually looked at him like he was crazy when he said that. Then I noticed a woman working on her iPad actually kind of listening to us and she nodded in agreement with Lee O.O!

Notes

Today, during lunch, I stopped past my locker like I usually do and found someone had stuffed a blue piece of paper in my locker. So I carefully unfolded it and discovered that it was shaped like a musical note, an eighth note to be exact. A cobalt blue, eighth note. There was nothing written on it. I had an idea whom it was from but he didn't accidentally bump in to me before Humanities o.o

I didn't hear anything from him all day. Then, while I was on the bus home, I get this txtmsg from him: Did you get my note? I laughed and giggled ^_^ It was so dorky. I loved it! ^_^

Anyway, I'm going to meet up with him downtown in a little while ^_^

Remembering guitar strings

This is how I remember the names of the strings on my guitar

Elephants And Donkeys Grow Big Ears => E A D G B E

What's really cool is that it also helps in remembering which string is the first E. The first string is the thickest, fattest and elephants are BIG! So, there you go ^_^ I've seen other phrases to help remember the names of the strings, but for some reason this one got stuck in my head. Sometimes I think "dogs" instead of "donkeys" but it still works out ^_^

My fingers aren't painful any more. They do get painful if I practice for a while, but that's okay. What's bothering me now is my wrist. I have to hold it crooked to play the frets and it gets stiff and sore after awhile. I hope that passes too.

Staged encounter and smiles ^_^

Well, his real name is Lee, but everyone calls him Kai o.O Well, not everyone. I call him Lee and I seem to get away with it ^_^ He's in the music program which means that our schedules don't overlap. Even our lunch periods are different o.o However, today, after I finished lunch and was heading to Humanities, I saw him waiting around my Humanities classroom. He was there just to say "hi" ^_^ I found out later that he had run straight there after getting out of his class and that he didn't have to worry about being late for his next class because his next class was lunch ^_^

Anyway, he said "hi" and I said "hi" and he asked how I was doing and such and about that time April pulled me into the class just before the bell rang. I giggled and kind of yelled "byeee" and heard a "bye" in reply ^_^ lol ^_^ OMG! I was being so silly.

Later, while I was riding the bus home, I got a txtmsg from him. All it said was: Smile! I did ^_^ I don't know why that made me smile but it did ^_^ I think he's just getting home now. Maybe a call? Me, him? Him, me? Why am I so nervous and antsy???

The rain doth teases

Rain, rain,
go away,
stop teasing me
today. >.<

It seems as though the rain just wanted to torment everyone today. It would rain for like five or ten minutes then stop and the sun would immediately come out as if to show you the soaked world. Then a few minutes later, the clouds would hide it and it would rain again. >.< Yard work was out of the question. Even if I wore my swimsuit, mom would have protested that I couldn't go outside because it was raining o.O Sooo, for the most part, I stayed inside munching on marzipan and Turkish delight which we got yesterday at the German deli ^_^

We also got fresh frankfurters from the deli and neck bones for soup. At Best Buy, I got myself a guitar stand. Now, I don't have to keep finding some place safe for it when I'm not playing it. It's also easier now to set down quickly and not have to spend several moments trying to keep it from falling over. I'm getting good with my guitar too. I can now play four cords nearly flawlessly. I still don't know any songs, but that's next, as soon as I decide which one I want to learn first ^_^

Kai, or Lee, he hasn't told me which is his real name and which is his nickname yet, called a while ago and we talked like for what seemed hours even though it was probably only an hour. We're now txting ^_^ He's into music, got that from his dad ^_^ He's more keyboard than guitar, but there's now "electric" instruments used during the drumming. So he used his acoustic guitar instead.

Stormy beach day

Well, we just got back from the beach this morning. The storm clouds are rolling in and it's beginning to sprinkle. It's strange how people stop swimming when the rain starts. It's even stranger how everyone runs for cover from the rain while they're still dripping wet in the swimsuits o.O I can understand not wanting to stay in the water in case of lightning. But trying not to get rained on while you're already dripping wet?? LOL ^_^

Well, my guitar is officially mine now. I had to take the back plate off to fix the jack for the amp core. The nut that holds the jack became loose and the jack kept spinning when I attempted to tighten the nut. So I had to take the plate off so that I could hold the jack while I tightened the nut. The guts of an electric guitar are very simple: a couple of potentiometers for the volume and tone controls, a toggle switch for the pickup control, the jack and the pickups themselves. Everything is connected with soldered wire, no circuit boards and such. I think the pickups are the most complex part.

Also, mom doesn't seem as mad I as thought she would be. She just reminded me of curfew and letting her know if I might be late and such. I think she was handing me some rope, possibly just enough to hang myself next time o.o ^_^ But last night would have been worth being grounded ^_^

Rhythms

It's late but mom is letting me post this quickly. Anyway, there were no drummers at the beach last night. However, they were there tonight along with the flutists and guitarists ^_^ I had a blast. I mostly trance danced. The rhythm of the drums can do that to you ya know ^_^ I danced until things wound down. As people were packing things up, the guitarist came over and started talking with me and asking me questions and such. I was totally caught off guard. Anyway, we seemed to talk forever, at least until my curfew then I had to leave. I got home late and mom's kind of pissed. But, he said he'll call me tomorrow. YaY! ^_^

Friday pizza, drums, and a mocking bird

It's Pizza Night and I can't just ignore pizza with mom ^_^ Anyway, after dinner, I'm going to head over to the beach to see if the drummers are there tonight. They vary their nights, sometimes coming on Fridays and sometimes on Saturdays. They've also been there on Sundays but that's rare. I'm going to dress for dancing and fun ^_^ It might be officially autumn, but it's still summer like temps here ^_^

There's a mocking bird here that, in addition to the normal bird songs, has picked up cell phone rings and video game sounds O.O I was outside listening to the birds and thought I heard a cell phone ring of in the distance. Just a few rings. Okay, so I ignore it, not my phone. A few moments later, I hear laser blasts from a video game. o.O So i start listening more carefully and discover they're all coming from a mocking bird in the woods O.O LOL

Yvonne will be over in a little bit and probably Kyle a bit later too. We'll hang out here, eat pizza then head over to the beach.

Practice

After signing off last night, I picked up my guitar and practiced for like an hour or more. About a week ago, I could barely do a few minutes of practice before having to rest my fingertips from the pain. Now, I'm up to an hour with only brief pauses in between "playing." I'm still learning four chords but they're coming more and more natural now. Even the chord of G is easier to do though I still have to pause a few moments while I get my fingers properly positioned. Overall, I'm making fewer dead notes now ^_^ I just wish I could find that guitarist from the beach last weekend. I think he can help me practice ^_^

The rains are back

Well, so much for autumn. The rains are back and the humidity is up. It feels like summer again o.o Oh well, hopefully next month it'll start getting cool again ^_^ Ya, can't have Halloween without a chill in the air. ^_^

Still no idea what I'm wearing for Halloween yet. I do like the masks that I saw in Target though. But they seem more appropriate to a ball or such than to trick-or-treating. The wolf and fox costumes are getting a bit boring now. Maybe a zombie or a zombie werewolf or a zombie werewolf vampire ^_^ lol ^_^

Music teacher

During lunch today, I wandered over to the music classes and talked with one of the teachers regarding my guitar. Basically, I asked him if I should be learning on a right-handed guitar considering that I'm kind of left-handed. He said that I should learn the way that I'm comfortable with learning. o.O Double-talk >.< Anyway, he did tell me that some people such as Jimi Hendrix, played a right-handed guitar upside down with the strings reversed to make it equivalent to a lefty. Some lefties actually learned to play a right-handed guitar, right-handed and some just learned to play it upside down without changing the strings. Stuff to think about. In fact, when I got home today, I did take a look at what I would need to do to reverse the strings and did do some googling on it too. Anyway, for now, I'll continue learning to play right-handed. Speaking of which, I didn't practice last night. I was playing Half Life and lost track of the time T_T What I did notice, is that when I picked up my guitar this morning and practiced, I seemed to be better at it and my fingers didn't bother me as much. I'm guessing that I should take a break every once in awhile.

Thunderstorm

Just made it home in time. While I love the thunder and rain and lightning, thunderstorms at dusk spook me. It's just something about them coming in as the sun is going down and I'm outside, away from shelter. Maybe because the already dark clouds grow even darker as the sun sets. But I also kind of like that spooky feel ^_^ And speaking of spooky, when we were at Targets yesterday, I saw some of the most beautiful masquerade masks, like the ones they wear for Carnival in Italy. I can imagine being at a masquerade ball, wearing a shimmering gown, knowing my identity is hidden behind such a beautiful mask. dancing gracefully with another masked dancer. All that we can see of each other are our eyes. Okay, I'm being silly. But still, I might make myself such a mask ^_^

Car troubles and missing musicians

Today, after shopping at Wally World and such, on the way home, we kept hearing a strange sound whenever we turned the corner. So, while I was putting the groceries away, mom googled the problem and most of the suggestions was that there was something wrong with the brakes. So mom when out and jacked up the car and pulled the front tire off and there it was, the problem. One of the bolts that holds the brakes to the wheel was missing. Not wanting to drive the car and such, mom calls up granddad and they get a replacement part and fix the brakes. Since granddad was down here, mom decided to just relax today instead of doing the list of chores she had planned ^_^ We all went over to the flea market to look around. I got some of my favorite incense: nag champa and mom got some more lizard decorations for the outside wall. We then went over to the mall and looked around and started getting hungry. There was a Steak-n-Shake nearby so we got something to eat there, mom's treat. After eating, we went to Target where I got myself some guitar strings just in case I break mine. Granddad dropped us off at the house and went home. I quickly got on my bike and headed to the beach to see if the drummers and the others were there tonight. But they weren't. o.o I waited around until around almost my curfew and headed home.

Taytay is supposed to be home today, more likely tonight. But I don't expect her to be online because it was a long and sad road trip. So, I'm going to practice my guitar. Love you Taytay.

Back from shopping

Got back from my run with the dogs, showered and mom and I snuck out to Burger King for breakfast than over to Wally World for some grocery shopping and finally the grocery store for veggies and fruit and good stuff.

I got myself some new tennies: black to match my guitar. I can also put sparkly stuff on them if I want to show off  ^_^ It'll take over night for the glue to dry but I'll have sparkly shoes for school tomorrow ^_^

Part of me wants to repeat last night, to be back on the beach, to be an audience of one. My guitar is sitting next to me, calling. I need to get back to practice.

Painful fingertips and emptiness

I barely slept at all last night. After I got home last night and showered and ready for bed, I picked up my guitar and headphones and practiced until the pain in my fingertips was unbearable even after resting. I'm no where near as good as any of the guitarists that were at the beach last night. Yet. I need to keep practicing. Even after deciding to call it a night, my mind kept drifting back to the beach and I had to fight hard to keep from picking up my guitar again. Eventually I fell asleep, but even then, I dreamt that I was at the beach, sitting in the sand, listening. I'd wake up with an emptiness knowing that it was only a dream and I was still in my bed.

Drums and music

I wandered down to the beach tonight. The drums were there and I really hadn't gone to the drums since Josh and I broke up. Tonight was more than just the drums though. There were also a few guitarists with acoustic guitars and a couple of flutists playing bamboo flutes. There was no particular song or piece being played. Everything just blended and melted and evolved into and out of itself. At first I just listened and watched. But soon, I started swaying and rocking and soon was caught up in the music. I danced like forever that was over too soon. The musicians started slipping away leaving fewer and fewer and taking the crowd with them. Eventually it was just a handful of us left. The rhythm seem to mellow out, inviting me, enticing me to just sit and listen.

Finally only a guitarist was left playing to an audience of one. Quietly swaying, she watched his every move. How he held his guitar. How his fingers danced along the string. Though his eyes were hidden in shadows, she knew they were on her, softly watching her. A vibrating alarm broke the spell and reminded her of her curfew. At home, her stomach is filled with butterflies still flittering around.

Air pirates ^_^

Another lovely morning

Kyle and Yvonne slept over last night. It was great ^_^

This morning, mom took us all to the beach where we met up with Yvonne's brothers. We spent most of the morning just bumming and lounging around. Afterwards, mom dropped Kyle off at his house, Yvonne went home with her brothers. Mom and I finished our de-sanding and showers and we're just waiting on mom's hair to dry some before heading out again. I want to get an adapter for my guitar cable that will let me plug it into the sound ports on my computers. In theory, no need for an amp ^_^ Mom also wants to pick up some meat from the butcher and he's only open on Saturdays. Maybe we'll also do the bookstore and Micheal's. But we can do that tomorrow too.

Sleep over and sad news

'Tis Friday night and I had fun. I met up with my friends downtown because we wanted to see a movie. But we didn't because we couldn't find any that we liked. So instead, we just hung around the pizza place and pigged out on pizza and soda. I had milk instead because mom doesn't like me all hyper on a sugar-caffeine buzz lol ^_^ Afterwards, Kyle, Yvonne and I headed over to my house and hung out. Alice and Sheila and Teagan and Mike went their own "couple" ways. It's late and they're still here and mom gave them permission to sleep over so that's what they're going to do ^_^ Soooo, time for me to post this and demo some more on my guitar for them ^_^

But, sad news before sign off: Taytay's grampa died before she could get there. I'm so sorry Taytay *hugs tightly* The funeral is tomorrow and she should be home by Sunday

Autumn is approaching

This is the third day that had an autumn feel to it. The sun was hot but there was a breeze that was nice and kept the worse of the heat away. There was even a chill in the air this morning. No clouds until around 1pm. But they never formed into anything and by the time my mom came home, they were gone completely again. Hmm, I need to decide on what I'm wearing for Halloween this year ^_^

I'm writing this entry in between breaks. I'm practicing with my guitar. I'm having problems tuning it though. It seems to have gone out of tune since last night. I guess that might be one of the reasons some guitars cost so much: they stay in tune much longer. Also, learning to play right handed when you're primarily left handed is a pain. I keep catching myself holding the guitar weird. But, so far, I've learned the A minor chord and am working on the C and G chords. The E minor chord looks extremely simple which means it'll be a pain to learn >.<

My online bestie is out of town for awhile. Her grampa is dying. Her and her family are in my thoughts and heart. Love you Taytay.

First night of the guitar

Tonight is the first night that I seriously played with my guitar. I looked it over, drooled, fantasized and all that last night. But tonight I seriously tried learning. I even bought some picks. So, after dinner and my shower, I closed my bedroom door plug everything in, including my headphones lol and started the tutorial. GRRRR! >.< That guy went so fast through everything. To make it worse, I'm a lefty. Everything including my guitar is for a righty. I priced out lefty guitars, I'm going to be learning with a righty for quite sometime. Anyway, I used the reverse and pause buttons on my DVD player and looked up everything that the guy assumed everyone already knew and practiced. This is going to be a long road. My finger tips are very sore now. Even typing this sends tiny spikes of pain through them. But that doesn't seem to stop me. The first time my fingers hurt bad enough to stop, I gave myself a pat on the back and said I practice again tomorrow after school. About five minutes later, I was practicing again until the pain made it difficult. Again, I said I would pick it up tomorrow. Nope, picked it up again and again. The only reason I finally set it aside is that I'm afraid of hurting my fingers and not being able to play while they healed. Yes, this is going to be a long road. But most of the fun is the trip ^_^

Florida's everyday wildlife

During lunch today, I over heard a Michigan girl talking about the egrets as though they were some sort of escaped animal. Apparently, have chicken sized wild birds wandering around is totally unfathomable to people in Michigan. They're amazed every time they see one walking along the grass and are blown away if they see several of them together. This doesn't take into account the furry animals such as coons and possums and armadillos and such. Nor does it take into account the reptiles such as the gators and anoles and snakes. These things are everyday commonalities for us in Florida. As she was talking about the little cattle egrets, a great white heron wandered up to her table, eyed her fries and then got spooked and took off. She was speechless. LOL ^_^

I love my Dad and Mom so much!!!!!

OMG! My dad bought me an electric guitar!!!! I got out of the shower and went back into my room to get dressed for bed and on the bed was a box with a picture of a guitar on it. At first I thought it was something else, people reuse boxes you know. But when I opened it, I almost freaked out! Mom had come in the room and was watching me, smiling and told me that she told my dad that I wanted one and they decided to get me one. It's a beginner's guitar with a simple amplifier. Mom pointed out the jack for head phones several times >.< lol ^_^

I LOVE MY DAD SOOOO MUCH!!!!!! Thank you dad! and mom! Now, I'm missing him so bad.

Clouds

Today started off rather nice this morning. Clear sky, no clouds to be seen, a tad cooler than yesterday. But by around 1pm the clouds returned. At least they waited until after lunch before they wandered back. It was a nice lunch. None of my friends seem to understand why I enjoy being outside so much. Well, maybe Yvonne does and maybe Kyle. Probably why I click with them both. I find energy outside even on the grayest of days.

My "stalker" from Humanities has lost interest in me. He's now stalking a girl a few seats over from him. I doubt that she even knows that he exists let alone knows that he's interested in her. So sad.

Beach

I caught up with my friends and we decided to do the beach tonight. So I quickly headed home and changed and met up with them at the beach. We more or less just lounged around, soaking up the sun, watching the girls and guys and being watched by the girls and guys until sunset ^_^ I was nice to be seen by people other than my friends. Why does this time of year make me all romantic and stuff o.O?

Anyway, there wasn't much sand to remove since we didn't goof around like yesterday which is kind of good. Mom wasn't happy about the sand she found in the shower after I had finished yesterday o.o

Beautiful Day

Today turned out to be a beautiful day today. No rain. Very little clouds. Very little humidity. If it wasn't for the heat, it could be a fall day ^_^ Sadly, I was inside in class most of the day >.< But lunch was nice. We sat close to the pond and tossed pieces of food to the turtles. There doesn't seem to be any "friendly" fish in the pond on campus though. So the turtles got most of the food ^_^

Okay, I'm going to finish up this post so I can get changed and hunt down my friends. It's still too damn nice to be inside and if my friends only want to hangout inside, i'll go off by myself >.< ^_^

Sunday Vegday

Mom and I did the traditional beach thing this morning. Yvonne and I did the little kids thing while there: built sand castles. Her brothers also did on a bit further down the beach and then launched an attack on ours. We countered. They counter-countered. Etc. Etc. Etc. ^_^ In the end, I think we won. Ours still had a tower standing with a stick doll on top until Mark's butt ended up on it >.<

After de-sanding and showering, mom and I did the typical shopping. I got myself a couple more sets of ear buds: I keep forgetting mine all over the place. So I now have a set for my satchel, my backpack, my pocket, my desk, the car, etc. ^_^ I also got a the latest copy of Juxtapoz magazine from the bookstore today. I'll bring it with my tomorrow to school so Yvonne can borrow it.

Anyway, it's 7pm so I probably should take a shower and get ready for bed.

Chinese and hair cuts

We spent almost all day out with granddad today. We went over there around 11:30a and didn't get home until around 8:45p. My mom trimmed his hair for him before we went out to lunch. Mom's must have a built skill for cutting family hair o.o Anyway, we ate at my favorite Chinese restaurant, I have leftovers in the fridge for tomorrow or maybe a snack later ^_^ Then we went up to the big outlet mall where I got some yummy English toffee which I finished off before we got back to the van ^_^ We didn't see much there so we ended up at the Burlington Coat Factory. Afterwards we ended up at another mall. We weren't planning on going there but mom and granddad got thirsty and suggested the food court. We wandered around for awhile and did some window shopping. We were in the Hallmark store looking at the Halloween stuff and there was this family there too. One of the little girls, she was maybe 5 or 6 years old, had found the walking Frankenstein dolls and took everyone off the shelf and activated them. It was hilarious. She had an army of Frankensteins marching down one of the isles ^_^ Her younger sister found a display of animated monsters and set them all off with their dances and songs and such. I'm going to have kids one day and I hope that they're as cute as those two girls were ^_^ As we were leaving the mall, I heard some one call out, "hey fruity!" I looked around and saw the same guy that I had seen at the mall close to my house. I couldn't get anywhere near him so I still don't know who he is T_T

Bouncy!!

Dance last night

Okay, I'm home now. I ended up sleeping over at Yvonne's because it was too late to call mom. Mom had given permission for the sleep over anyway ^_^

So, Yvonne and I meet up at Teagan's. Mike is there looking way cool ^_^ It doesn't take him long to send me into a fit of giggles. Teagan's not amused since by that time it was my turn for makeup assistance ^_^ After a few failed attempts which ended with Mike being chased out of the house to hang with Teagan's brothers, I finally got it right. Nothing as good as at the mall, but 1000 times better than I would have done by myself. I think even Kyle noticed me this time (he arrived while Mike was in exile outside). Around 6:30p we piled into Teagan's mom's mini van and head to the dance.

The dance was a blast! OMG! I so loved it! While the "couples" spent most of their time together and such, Kyle, Yvonne and myself took turns dancing with each other, by ourselves and all together. Several times while Kyle and Yvonne were elsewhere and I was doing my wallflower impression, guys would come up to me and ask me to dance. Heck yes! Like I said, I had a blast! The dance ended around 9pm and we all head over to the pizza shop for more pizza. Eventually, Yvonne and I ended up at her house and we sat around being "interrogated" by her parents and brothers and comparing notes until we fell asleep.

Anyway, mom will be up very soon and I get to be "interrogated" by her ^_^ We're then going to head up to granddad's and do some shopping and such and hopefully stop at my favorite Chinese restaurant for a late lunch ^_^ So, I need to logoff and deglitter and un-princess myself back into plain Emily ^_^

Pizza and dancing

Me voy esta noche a la danza. Me voy con mis amigos. EstĆ” lloviendo pero yo voy todavĆa.

Tonight is pizza night and it's also the night of my first high school dance. I still have no idea why they're doing a dance. But, heck, I don't care ^_^

Mom is going to be home early with pizza so I'll have time to eat and get ready. Then she's going to drop me off at Teagan's and pick me up later after the dance. Teagan is going to supervise Yvonne's and my attempts to do make ourselves look "presentable" >.< Her mom is going to drop us off at the dance. So far, all my friends will be there though only Alice and Sheila and Teagan and Mike are the only couples. It's informal so we get to wear almost anything we want. I'm still not sure if I'm going the jeans and a top route yet. Teagan would probably be peeved if I showed up like that >.< lol ^_^

Anyway, got to go now. I need to decide on what to wear.

Waterway

This is one of the many waterways near were I live. I once rescued a cottonmouth from one of the neighborhood cats and turned it loose here.

Final project and dancing

I found out today that one of our final projects in Digital Art is a self-portrait done in Painter >.< I kind of don't like doing those things. I always look so creepy and dorky in the end. No matter how hard I try, it just doesn't look right.

A couple of guys have asked me to the dance thing tomorrow. I told them something like, "I haven't decided if I'm going yet." They gave me their numbers which set off the butterflies in my tummy. Why now? Why are they just waking up again? Why the heck did I freeze at the mall yesterday? I still don't know who he is.

I just called the two that asked me out Friday and told them that I was going with a couple of friends. I didn't want to leave them hanging. Maybe they can find dates still. Though, if they're asking me, then they've pretty much scraped the bottom of the barrel.

Home now

Well, we met up at the mall: Teagan, Mike, Kyle, Yvonne and myself. We wandered around looking at things and munching food from the food court. One of the reasons we're there is to find some more makeup for me and Yvonne. There's some sort of dance Friday night and Teagan still isn't finished making us presentable. Heck, I don't even know if I want to go; but that's not going to stop her. As we pass a Bath & Body store, she herds us girls into the store, as the boys make a break for Spencers. Yvonne seem to escape the body sprays; however, I didn't. I ended up smelling of coconut and strawberry. We didn't find anything there and met up with Mike and Kyle outside of Spencers. I wanted to get some nag champa incense but Kyle had already got me a couple of boxes ^_^ We ended up in Dillars' makeup counter. A couple sales ladies helped Yvonne and me find a "look" with Teagan's help and suggestions. After they finished with us, Yvonne and I looked drop dead gorgeous O.O I couldn't believe we could actually looked that good O.O We couldn't afford everything that was used on us, but we did get enough for Teagan to work with. We found the guys again and had to chase after their eyeballs which popped out of their heads LOL ^_^

While standing in like for a pretzel, this guy next to me said, "my, you smell fruity." I didn't even know anyone was next to me. So I look at him and my heart nearly leaps out of my chest. About that time Mike says aloud, "she's a fruit." "Cake," Kyle adds almost on cue >.< Both take off running. The spell is broken and I hot on their butts >.< They're so dead tomorrow. By the time I get back, he's gone and neither Teagan nor Yvonne have any idea where he went o.o GRRRRRR!!

In the end, we ended up going home.

Hodge podge of stuff

I don't have very much to say this after noon, so I'm just going to rattle off some observations and such.

The sun finally peeked out today during lunch. But it hid behind the clouds again afterwards. A lot of the ditches and fields and ponds were flooded on the way to school this morning. Even the peepers where out in force. Peepers are tiny frogs with a loud, high pitched call. Some people mistake them for being birds.

The guy from my Humanities class that was watching me was again watching me during lunch. O.O But I also go the impression that he wasn't really watching me, but the girl sitting between him and us and it just looked like he was watching me o.O

Finished off another book/story a little while ago. With Kindle "books" it's hard for me to categorize an eBook as a book or a story. This seems to be more of a story than a book. I doubt that I would ever see it in book form on the shelf at the book store or library. It's called "Fall For Me" by Melanie Marks. A sweet, teen romance story that I actually liked. I've been reading a lot of them lately. I don't know what's gotten into me lately o.o

Anyway, I'm going to go meet up with my friends at the mall for awhile. Maybe I'll have something to write about when I get home.

Two more books of short stories

Just finished two book of short stories, titled "Smoothies for Two" by Jamie McGhee, Jennifer Wilson and Emily DeHority and "No Time for Games & Other Stories" by Amanda Lawrence Auverigne.

"Smoothies for Two" Is a collection of sweet stories, poems, plays and such about teens falling in love, crushes, tragedies, dealing with pregnancy, etc. The stories were a really nice read and well worth the $1 I paid for the book.

"No Time for Games & Other Stories" is a collection of humorous teen stories. Likewise, I found it worth the $1 I paid for it ^_^.

"Green Witch" - Alice Hoffman

I forgot how much I loved Alice Hoffman's "Green Angel" until I read the sequel "Green Witch". The book picks up a few years later, as Green is getting ready to turn 17. Her village is rebuilding from the firestorm. It will never be the same, but it is growing just as she is growing. One day she comes upon the lair of a boy people call "The Finder" because of his skill in finding things that are needed. He asks her to help find his sister, Heather, a friend that Green had though perished after the firestorm. He shows Green a grainy picture of her being abducted by a Horde soldier and to Green's surprise, she sees that the soldier is Diamond, her lost love. He had come to her after the firestorm in search of his family and left to continue his quest. The story follows Green on her quest to rescue Heather and to find Diamond.

I loved this story almost as much as I did "Green Angel". Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. Just like "Green Angel," this story had a magical feel to it. While it was set in a realistic alternate world, the descriptions often felt as though it was a fantasy. There were times that I wasn't sure if the what I was reading was actually happening or just metaphors. I took it as both.

Morning Meditation and Kitty

Do you know how hard it is to do yoga and meditate while your kitty is demanding attention? I was sitting on the floor, trying to meditate when Sasha decided that she absolutely needed some attention. She climbs into my lap, starts brush her head against my hands and finally gives up and puts her face in mine like, "hellooooo?" >.< So I give up and pet and scritch her and such. She's happy and wanders off. A little bit later, I'm doing yoga and she's back again for even more attention >.< Even now, as I type this, she's sitting right next to my hands ready to intervene the moment I stop typing >.<

I love my kitty ^_^

Home now

Well, we're home now. Tired and happy and stuffed ^_^

This morning mom and I went to Walmart for some groceries then to Publix for the rest of the groceries that we don't get at Walmart. After we got home, I did my eyes up like an emo girl. Mom just rolled her eyes when she saw me ^_^ I don't know why I did it, but I just felt like it I guess. Around 11:30am we went over to grand dad's and then from there we all went out. We stopped in the asian market to get some teas and chestnuts and Japanese "cookies." After that, we stopped past a hardware store to pick up some things. Then we went and got an early dinner, like around 3pm early. But it was sooo good. I had me some shoofly pie and was bouncing off the walls the rest of the time we were out ^_^ But it was sooo good LOL ^_^ We stopped past Best Buy where I looked at the tablets and got myself a copy of "Sherlock Holmes" then over to the book store where there was this guy from my school trying to flirt with me ^_^ He's funny ^_^.

Anyway, I'm home and showered and munching chestnuts ^_^

Labor Day

It's Monday morning and I'm up as usual. Even went so far as to start getting my stuff ready for school >.<

Mom, my grand dad and I are going out today instead of doing the normal cookout. We still haven't decided what we're going to do yet though. Maybe a movie or one of the local attractions.

I started reading William Faulkner again last night. I forgot how much I liked his stories. I finally got a collection of his for my Kindle. I still need to get a copy of "The Sound and The Fury" for my Kindle though. It's on my class's reading list. Hemingway is also good and a couple of his books are on the list too.

Sasha is curled up in my lap, demanding my attention. So I had better give her some ^_^

Sunday are supposed to be for resting

Not for doing yard work >.< I slept over at my friends last night and get home this morning in time to help mom with the yard >.< She even let me use the mower. When I was little, I always wanted to mow the lawn but no one would let me because I was too dangerous. Now that I'm older, I don't want to, but guess who gets volunteered >.< Anyway, we spent most of the morning and part of the early afternoon catching up on yard work and such. Afterwards, I showered and relaxed with a game of Half Life 2 until my hair was dry and mom was ready to go shopping. We did the bookstore and Staples where I looked over the android tablets (I soooo want one) then stopped by the dollar store and finally to Taco Bell for dinner.

I just finished Half Life 2: Episode 2 and can't wait until Episode 3 comes out. I so love this game. Sure, the main character in the game is Gordon Freeman, a man. But he is partnered with Aylx and she's cute and intelligent and self reliant and I wish she was real ^_^ So, I don't mind being referred to as Gordon, he's kind of cute too ^_^ Anyway, until Episode 3 comes out, I need to find something else to play. Oh, I never finished Dead Space. I probably should do that. And I also have Quake 4 to play and LOTR Online. There was a cool game I read about a while back where you fight shadows and such. I need to see if I can find it. It's been awhile since it was released so maybe I can get it cheap now. Found it! It's for the Wii and is called "Lost in Shadow" Here's a trailer for it:

Morning

I'm home from the beach and de-sanded now ^_^ Just waiting on my hair to finish drying before wandering off again.

I slept over at a friend's house last night. I almost got in trouble with mom because I forgot about the time. I'm supposed to be home by 11pm on Friday and Saturday nights, but I was still at my friend's house. At least my friend's mom vouched for me when I called mom. Mom gave me permission to sleep over because it was way late.

I got home around 7, 7:30 this morning, took the dogs for a quick run and got changed into my swimsuit. Mom and I then headed to the beach for a few hours. Met up with Yvonne and her brothers there and just enjoyed ourselves.

I'm not sure what I'll be doing the rest of the day though. It's a three day weekend so I have plenty of time ^_^

Out with my friends

Well, it doesn't look like I'll make it in time to post an entry for
today. So I'm doing it from my droid. Trust me, this is painful and in
going to make this short.

A couple of songs that have my attention

Rained on

It's been cloudy all day and just a brief sprinkle here and there but nothing to worry about. So when does the sky open up? When I'm on the bus home? Noooo. When I'm in the house? Noooo. So when does it???? When I'm on my way over to Yvonne's and have no place to take shelter >.< So a sopping wet, barefoot swamp rat ends up on her doorstep. A few minutes after I'm inside, the rain stops GRRRR! >.< At least Yvonne and I are the same size. After I change into some of her clothes and mine are in the dryer, we head out to find that band we danced to last night but they were no where to be seen. Which was probably a good thing since the park was soaked from the downpour. In the end, we ended up walking along the shore at the beach, practicing our spanish until it started getting dark. I picked up my bike and clothes over at Yvonne's and on the way home, the skies opened up again >.< Oh well. No harm done this time because I was heading home anyway ^_^ Mom was not amused by the puddles I left on the floor  o.o LOL ^_^
