Gray day

It's gray. It's humid. It's suffocating. I went running earlier and had to return home because I was worried about the dogs getting sick. I still finished my run, but was soaked from sweating so much. Maybe I'll meet up with my friends later at the beach ^_^

Randomness

I've noticed that I haven't been using my iPad to blog of late. In fact, I think it's been sometime since the last post I made with it. Maybe the newness has worn off. Or maybe, it's because BlogPress mangled my post so horribly that I had to retype it >.< Honestly, it's probably both with a leaning towards the mangling as the reasons. Today, I decided to look around for a new blogging app and discovered that Posts is now free. It used to be $10 but for some reason, they've released it for free and there's no in-app purchases. I've found that some apps are free but require you to purchase it in-app if you want all the features and such. Posts is free free. You get all the features it has to offer immediately: no purchase required. I'll be giving it a try and if I'm happy, bye-bye BlogPress.

On the blogging front, Blogger is being a pain in the butt regarding stats. I keep telling it not to track my visits and yet, it still does >.< I have to carefully sift through the stats to determine if anyone else has been visiting my blog. I'm almost sure that even my previews of my posts are being included in my stats. It's just annoying.

I've locked in my class for next year. I'm happy ^_^ I'm going to try to make the most of my tech tools next year. It's not like I haven't been doing so already. But I want to carry less around with me: my satchel/messenger bag has grown heavy of late. I want to lighten it up a little or even better, a lot :P Afterwards, I'll update my page on my satchel's contents. It's been like a couple of years since I last did that.

Anyway, I'm hungry. I'm going to meet up with Yvonne and get some numnums ^_^

Just a heartbeat

It's been about a week since I posted an entry here and I thought it would be nice to let anyone that was following me know that I'm still alive and here ^_^

It's been a typical Summer with the weather and such. So, if you're curious about my weather, lookup a few of last year's posts lol ^_^

Grrr! Tom and Jack want to go for a walk now. Or in my case, a drag. LOL ^_^ I'll try to pop back here later and add some more content.

Tropical fail

There was supposed to be tropical storm or at least a depression passing nearby this weekend. It failed. We did get tons of rain on and off. But it's hard to know if that's because of the fail or just the normal weather.

Friday was mom's birthday <3 For the first time ever, I not only took her out to Outback, but I drove, and I paid for the entire thing as a present for her ^_^ But that's kind of tooting my own horn. I gave her this really pretty silver and diamond (yes, real silver and real diamonds) tennis bracelet. I'm sure that it's not worth that much, but it looks beautiful on her ^_^

Shorter days

The sun is getting up later and later and going down earlier and earlier. It's kind of hard to notice unless you look for it. It's funny how Summer vacation starts in the middle of Summer instead at the beginning.

Time is running out

I need to truly decide on what I want to do with my life with regards to education and a career. Lately, I've been losing interest in Mars. I doubt that I'll be the first person to set foot as there are already tons of people well ahead of me. I love art and music and science and kids and exploring and Lee (^_^) Programming is fun. It's like a puzzle game but with words. But I can't see myself trapped behind a desk in an office. That's not me at all. An artist's life is hand-to-mouth my mom says. You often get just enough to survive the next day. Even though mom's an artist, she does do more than just art. Lee's chosen the music path for himself. While I'd love to be in that part of his future too, I can't see myself doing the "office" thing: he's going to be a composer. I love science and all the tech, but that's also an "office" thing. Unless, it's a field researcher. But that'll have its downside too. Lee's career won't involve much travel. And field researchers often spend years in the field o.o

Maybe I'm still young enough that the thought of being in an office sounds horrible. Maybe when I'm older, I will actually seek out that office and desk and comfy chair and monotony. But for now, I need to think about the next five to ten years and where I will be during that time.

So why am I concerned at this moment? It's because school will start up in under a couple months and I need to really start thinking about my future in college. Yes, I'm still doing the dual enrollment thingy.

Chop! Chop!

There goes my allowance o.o Mom decided to cut my allowance starting at the end of the week. She says that now that I'm working, that I no longer need as large an allowance ($20 a week) as I've been getting. She's still giving me enough for my monthly cellphone bill. That's good, kind of, I guess. Yeah, it's good. It guarantees that I'll have cellphone service ^_^ And I kind of don't mind her doing it. I am making better money on my own with web programming for mom's clients and such. The only problems I see with the new arrangements is that I still have the same chores and school.

I just got home about thirty minutes ago and I'm dead tired. Did the cookout with family and friends. But we didn't see the city's fireworks display. The weather was just too wet. Instead, we just shot them up at Yvonne's house. Actually, it was her dad and brothers. The rest of us just watched ^_^

Free week

Happy July 1st ^_^ It's raining. Not just the drizzly everyday rain, but the torrential downpours. It's been doing this since Saturday afternoon. We thought we would get some relief Sunday morning when the sun came up. Nope. Even with the sun up, the downpoured >.< This morning, the sun didn't even try bothering.

Last week was the last of the art camp. I have the rest of the Summer off, kind of. I'll still be volunteering at the art center, but it's only for a few days of the week vs. every day. And, it won't be as many hours at a time. I'm going to miss the kids, though I will still see a few of them on and off for the rest of the Summer.
