Guess where I'm not...

The Everglades >.< Camp has been postponed because of tropical storm Debby. They're going to try to do it the week after the Forth of July. But if enough people pull out, then it'll be cancelled until next year o.o This really sucks I guess. I was so looking forward to going again. Let's hope they reschedule *crosses fingers, toes, eyes, and anything else* lol ^_^

The rain has stopped for the moment. Our backyard looks horrible. The winds torn down several huge branches and are working on a few more. They say the worse will be over by this weekend. Of course that means no beach. All the rain runs off into the gulf and carries pollution with it, usually bacteria. So it'll be a few weeks before it's safe to swim again.

Everglades, here I come!

In just a little bit, mom will be taking me to the camp bus for my week in the Everglades ^_^ This is going to be a blast! But at the same time, I'm going to miss my friends, Lee especially T_T

Rain, rain, rain

It's been raining since yesterday afternoon. A drizzle rain, nothing much more. Just enough to soak things thoroughly. I spent almost the entire day with Lee today because tomorrow, I leave for Everglades camp. We just basically hung out at each other's houses. I won't see or hear from him for a week starting tomorrow. Well, maybe a txtmsg here and there, but reception sucks in the middle of nowhere. The camp has the basics: water, electricity, phone, food, cabins, but no internet. Actually, there is internet, but only the camp councilors can use it and it pretty much sucks. But, hey, I'm not going there for the internet, I'm going there to help and learn about the Everglades ^_^

Happy Birthday Yvonne!!!!

Happy Birthday Yvonne!! <3 <3 We're the same age again ^_^

Yes, today is one of my besties birthdays. I've been hanging out with her and our friends most of the day but needed to come home for a little bit. Soon, I'll be heading back to her house for her birthday party ^_^ It's going to be another vanilla party. Vanilla is her fav flavor and scent. So, like last year, everything is going to be white or almost white. Vanilla cake, frosting, ice cream, etc. lol ^_^

Summer Solstice

Today is the longest day of the year. After this point, the days will begin getting shorter and shorter. For some reason, I've always thought of the Summer Solstice as the last day of summer because we're now going towards Winter. Kind of sad if you really think about it. Summer's over with and it seems as though it had just begun o.o What's interesting is that it's going to get hotter even though the days are growing shorter o.O

Volunteering

Art Summer camp started last week. It goes on all Summer but you pay for the weeks you want to go. Last Summer, I volunteered to help with the kids and had a blast. I was kind of sad that Summer was over because camp would be ending. I had so much fun that I wanted to help again this year. Well, before I even could call them, I received email from them wondering if I would be interested in helping out again. Heck yeah! ^_^ So that's what I've been doing for the past week. Sometimes they need me in the mornings and sometimes in the afternoons. So I'm only there for part of the day. That gives me the rest of the day to myself ^_^ And that's cool because Lee's working with his dad. And because I volunteer, I get to do a few classes for free ^_^

Busy, busy, busy

Sorry about not posting over the weekend. I've been busy with my first weekend of the Summer ^_^

Friday night, Lee, Yvonne, and Kyle spent the night. Movie and pizza all night long ^_^ Then Saturday morning, after everyone left, mom and I did our beach outing and met up with Yvonne and her brothers there. We then did the bookstore and such. Saturday night, Lee and I hung out at the beach listening to the drum circle until like 11pm. Yesterday, mom and I did the shopping and chores around the house. We did Chinese take-out for dinner.

Today, I played on the computer on and off all day. When I wasn't online, I was outside exploring. It's been awhile since I've truly explored my neighborhood. The gopher tortoise is still living in her hole in the woods. She still likes strawberries ^_^ My favorite, hidden spot in the woods is still there and still hidden and still my favorite ^_^ There's a tree there that I love sitting in and just doing nothing but watching and listening and smelling and feeling the world. It's so lovely there.

Anyway, I'm going out running with my dogs now, before it even attempts to get cloudy.

Rain

It's raining. It's been raining since before sunrise today. The only time it stopped seemed like it was catching its breath to rain even more o.o I spent most of the day at home, alone, with my guitar and drawing programs. At least I wasn't bored ^_^

Second day of Summer Vacation

It clouded over yesterday afternoon but never really rained. It tried, tried hard to, but never happened. It still feels like it wants to this morning though. I kind of hope that it does; I like running in the rain. But only if it is warm rain ^_^

A note about my postings. My goal for this blog was to post at least once everyday while in school. I did that. Yay me ^_^ Now Summer is here and I have lots of things to do. I'll probably won't be posting daily during for a few months. There will be a time or two where I won't be posting for a week or two. It's kinda hard to do in the middle of the Everglades for example ^_^

Anyway, Sasha wants my attention now. She's kind of jelly of my iPad LOL ^_^

First day of Summer Vacation!

*yawn* Such a lazy morning, not! You're supposed to be able to sleep in late on the first day of Summer vacation. Tom and Jack had other plans. Yup, they were up at 5:00am and wanted me up too >.< lol But that's normal for me, even on the weekends. So, I went running with them this morning. I love running in the mornings. Everything seems clean and new for some reason.

We did get out of school early yesterday, around 1:00pm. Basically, lunch was just a big buffet of food instead of the meals. Various lunch periods were just kind of blended together too. So for the first time since we've known each other, Lee and I were able to eat a school lunch together ^_^ He's working today. Otherwise, I'd be with him now. I'll be able to spend some time with him later after dance class tonight <3 ^_^

Last day of school!

Yes! I just need to finish today! ^_^ Even the dogs, Tom and Jack, seem to be in a bouncy mood this morning. Sasha is happy because my head is no long occupying her pillow on her bed >.< Lol The sky is clear, star filled still, but clear. So, yes, I'm riding my bike this morning ^_^

One more day

One more day of school and then it's Summer vacation. Yes! ^_^ It sucks that we have to go just one more day. The seniors graduated last night and they're gone. Poof! It's just us freshmen, sophomores, and juniors left o.o But that's okay. It's not like there's going to be any real classes tomorrow. Just small class parties and stuff. Rumor has it that they'll probably let us go early tomorrow. Well, the students with transportation. Guess who's going to be riding her bike to school tomorrow ^_^

Today was chore day. Mom and my grocery shopping morning followed by laundry, yard work, etc. I don't really mind. All my friends are doing about the same thing. Or they're out with family and such. That's where Lee was, with family until this evening. He came over for dinner, pot pies, and hung out with me until curfew. Lazy Sunday. The best kind ^_^

Beach morning ^_^

Summer is officially here! Mom and I are back to our Saturday morning tradition: farmers market, BK for breakfast, and then the rest of the morning at the beach ^_^ Or some variation of those ^_^ We didn't see much at the farmers market. Mom did get some fresh basil.Yvonne and her brothers where at the beach as per usual. The water was very calm and Yvonne and I ended up snorkeling along shore. If you just do a quick look underwater, you'd think that it was just a desert. But if you take your time and float, your eye catches camouflaged movement and you see what is really there. Lots of little fish and a few crabs. Some pipefish, they're related to sea horses. Little patches of sea weed of course. We saw a flounder and a tiny ray. "Stingray shuffle" people! We also dug up sand fleas and coquinas and did races to see whose could vanish back in the sand fastest ^_^

Friday!

One more day of school and then.... SUMMER VACATION!! YaY!! ^_^ I'm excited. And kind of sad. Sad because some of my friends go away for the summer. Mike and Teagan leave for family vacations. And Alice, my best bestie, spends the summer on the other coast of Florida. She leaves July 2nd, so I'll get to see her before she leaves. I'm doing the Everglades summer camp again. I leave on June 23rd and don't get back until June 30th. They're also thinking of extending another week if enough people want to do two weeks. If they do and mom says I can, I'll be doing the two week version ^_^ I also think Yvonne will be coming this year too, and maybe Kyle. Lee can't or won't or both. He's working with his dad this summer and isn't much into swamps >.< LOL ^_^
