Blue Moon

Tonight's the blue moon ^_^ You know, like, once in a blue moon. Tonight is also Friday. So I don't have to be home until 11pm ^_^ Tonight, Lee doesn't need to help his dad. Tonight, we're going to be at the beach under a blue moon. Something like this happens only once in a blue moon ^_^

Afterwards, we're going to come over to my house and watch movies and such like we normally do ^_^

Beach

I met up with Lee after dinner tonight <3 He was kind of disappointed that I had eaten already because he wanted to treat me to dinner ^_^ So, instead, he treated me a double fudge coconut sunday with nuts, whipped cream and a cherry on top ^_^ I love him ^_^ Afterwards, we ended up down at the beach just kind of doing nothing but being together. It was a beautiful sunset and the sky was filled with stars. I think Lee is mine for eternity ^_^ <3 ^_^

Empty afternoon

Because of my schedule, I get out of school on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at noon. That gives me the entire afternoon off ^_^ It does have it's downside though. All my friends are still in school and don't get out until around 3pm. Three hours of no one. Just me and the dogs and kitty and emptiness. And this goes on until December. At least when I'm home because of the fever, I really don't care if everyone is still in school. It kind of doesn't matter much, but at the same time it does. Anyway, I got a txtmsg from Lee <3 He doesn't need to help his dad tonight ^_^

Schools back

It looks to be no damage as a result of Isaac. Yay! Other than large quantities of water from the rain and tons of pine needs from the winds, there's no evidence that Isaac even existed.

Because of Isaac, there's no dance class tonight. For some reason I thought that there wasn't going to be class tonight anyway o.O Oh well. Yvonne's coming over in a little bit and we're going to hang out. She seems to be becoming more and more my bestie of late. Alice is my true bestie, but she seems to prefer Sheila more than me. I guess that's part of becoming a woman and all that. But I don't want to lose here ;_; We've been besties almost all of our lives. Now, I'm beginning to tear up. I need to figure this out or at least stop the tears before Yvonne gets here.

Rainy day Part 2

Still at home. But, my friends are going to come over after lunch ^_^ YaY friends ^_^

It's raining again. A little while ago, there was large patches of blue sky. Now they're going and replaced by dark clouds and drizzle rain. I guess it's going to be doing this all day. Storm bands. I keep trying to call Isaac a hurricane, but it's still a tropical storm. The weather peeps say that it'll probably be a hurricane tomorrow. But by then, it'll be way past us to cause anything. Anyway, mushroom soup is calling my name ^_^

Rainy day

Sir Isaac, the tropical storm, formally hurricane, has passed us by. Even the tropical storm force winds never really happened. What did happen was rain. Tons of it. Everything is soak. Not just, damp or wet, but soaked. I went out back with the dogs this morning and *squish!* The ground is almost mud, but not quite. My feet were wet but not muddy when we came back in.

Maybe, just maybe, the weather will clear up enough that I can hang out with my friends today ^_^

No school tomorrow, yay?

It looks like hurricane Isaac is going to miss us big time ^_^ However, it's still going to be close enough to throw tropical storm force winds at us o.o So, they've closed the schools for tomorrow. Yay, kind of. School is fun for me. I love it. So missing a day kind of sucks. Also, it isn't just missing a day, there will be some nasty winds and rain and storms all around with possibility of tornadoes o.o Not fun at all >.< But I'm not the only one home tomorrow. Mom will be. But it isn't like she's missing anything. She has an office here too. Guess what she'll be doing...

I doubt any of my friends will be over until the storm is gone and the all clear is sounded. So, I'm stuck sort of.

Visiting

We visited my granduncle today. I like the area his ALF is in. So beautiful. It's ranches with rolling hills and pastures and forests. Mom says it's flat compared to mountains or even the foot hills of mountains. But I can try to image what it would be like. I now want to see true hills and mountains. I sometimes imagine the summer thunderheads to be mountains and my mind gets blown away o.o

Essays and guests

The essay test was a breeze. I did enough of them in middle school and last year, that I don't freeze like everyone else normally does. I'm sure I aced it ^_^ I also hope that if I did something wrong, I'll find out what I did so that I can avoid doing it next time. Learn from your mistakes ^_^

My granddad was over for dinner tonight. Mom cooked up lasagna and garlic biscuits. Nummy ^_^ I pigged out lol ^_^ Lee at least was polite about it. Though later, he teased me about it, while I was eating another piece of lasagna >.< LOLOLOLOL I love him so much <3

Anyway, the movie is starting, gotta go ^_^

Hurricanes and tests.

Hurricane Issac is on its way. It's supposed to be here sometime Monday, but with luck, it'll be further west in the Gulf instead of skimming the shore or worse. Mom's going through the check list of stuff we have and need for our Hurricane Kit. The dogs and cat are all up to date with their shots though we need a crate for Sasha. We totally forgot about her O.O If for some horrible bad luck we end up at a shelter, the dogs and cat need to be in crates. Otherwise, they can't stay >.< Where the heck are they going to go????? People can be so cruel. Anyway, this is probably causing all the rain we've been getting in the afternoons lately. Which is no problem for me. I love running in the rain and so do Tom and Jack ^_^

We have an essay test tomorrow in English. Well, it's sort of a test and sort of an assignment. The instructor wants to find out how we do under pressure of the clock. Apparently all the "big" tests have an essay question that counts like 20% of the final total. So, we have to practice essay questions. It doesn't bother me one bit though. I love essay questions ^_^

Unreally beautiful day

I'm posting this from the campus computer lab ^_^

This morning was one of the rare days where the sun is just right in the eastern sky and there are those blue gray night clouds in the west. Everything glows and stands out against those clouds. It seem so real as to be almost unreal. There's no way a camera could ever capture this morning. o.o

Dance classes will start up again next month. So, I have another Tuesday to do something else with ^_^ I only wish that Lee had it off. But he still helps his dad which is good. That's where he gets his money from. I kind of feel bad because he then turns around and spends it on me o.o

Three more classes ^_^

Today's classes were: Intro to Astrobiology, Color Fundamentals, and Digital Imaging I, all are going to be awesome ^_^

Intro to Astrobiology is about what alien life may be like, how we would go about searching for it, would we even recognize it as life, etc. This is a perfect class for a girl that dreams of exploring space and being the first person on Mars ^_^ I doubt that I will be the first person, but I probably will be one of the first colonists ^_^ Or, maybe I'll control a robotic explorer through space. They'll probably be so advanced that it would almost be like being there in person. That would work for me ^_^

Digital Imaging I is what its name implies: creation and manipulation of digital images. It also include digital photography (that's creating) and printing. I know most of it from my mom and school. But, it's an art class too and I so love art <3 ^_^

Color Fundamentals is probably the closest thing to non-digital art that I have this year. Art supplies are a must (I have more than enough must ^_^) We'll also be using computers to explore ideas. Another cool class if I say so myself (and I do ^_^).

I'm thinking of renaming this blog to something more long term. "High School Years" implies only the time I spend in HS. But I'm thinking of just continuing on beyond that and maybe until I'm settled in on Mars. Then, I'll start a blog for my life on Mars. Though, probably, I'll start it before I get there, describing everything leading up to it. Since, that is the beginning of my new life ^_^

First day ^_^

Well, first day is over and it was grand ^_^

Lee, Alice, and Yvonne have homeroom, American History, with me. So I'm won't be that lonely ^_^ What's cool about this class is that you can opt to do essay questions for exams instead of multiple guess and true-and-false questions. I LOVE essay tests ^_^

It's the same with Written Communication (a.k.a English I). Tests will be an essay question and some multiple-guess and true-and-false questions. She's going to emphasis the TEEEC essay format: Thesis, Example 1, Example 2, Example 3, Conclusion. We also have a couple of research papers, a few essays, lots of reading assignments and homework.

Fundamentals of Music was my next course today. The instructor seems really cool and laid back. Again, she's going to have us do research papers and essays and homework. This class had a more HS feel to it. Probably because of the instructor.

College Algebra was probably the most formal class. Maybe not formal, maybe more like serious. The instructor joked around with us before class started, but he took on a more serious attitude once class started.

These three classes meet every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I have two classes that meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays: Introduction to Astrobiology, Color Fundamentals, and Digital Imaging I.

College courses are so different from HS. Everyone seems to be more mature even though we're all about the same age (HS students are in different, but equal, classes from the older students). In HS, you get to class and there's a lot of talking and laughing and goofing around, sometimes even after the teacher comes in. In college, there's still talking and laughing, but much less goofing around and such. But maybe it's because it's the first day. I'll find out more as the year goes one.

Books are very expensive. I think my cheapest book was like $98 O.O But, you can sell them back to the college if they're near new condition. Mom poked me in the ribs when we found that out >.< LOL ^_^

Also, everyone is so mature and you're expected to be as well. The cafeteria is always open and you can stop in between classes and get a snack or drink. The library is huge compared to my HS's library. Like the cafeteria, it's also always open. You're not questioned as to why you're at either one. They assume that you have business there. Though, I was questioned when I was wandering around campus by a security guard. He didn't realize that I was a student and thought I was just a kid wandering around. I might have grown some, but I'm still small compared to most students.

Summer's come and gone (almost)

Wow, it seems that this Summer was a quick one. I can't believe that it's almost over with. Art Summer Camp is over, so I'm not needed to help out with the kids. I loved doing that. It's just mind boggling @_o Just think, next month, mom and I are going to be dragging the Autumn decorations out and making the house look autumny. Then, a month later, Halloweeny. And then Thanksgivingy and finally Christmasy.

It's raining now. More like a torrential down pour. Oh, and add thunder to which means, there are two huge dogs trying to crawl into my lap every few minutes >.< The real problem is that my lap is barely big enough for my kitteh ^_^

Oops

A correction for yesterday's post. Not only do I start school next week, everyone starts. My mistake. I did this same mistake last year o.o I guess I get so hyped ^_^

Changes

It's been a while since I've measured myself so I decided to do it this morning. I've grown. I'm not as tiny as I was was earlier this year. I'm still small compared to my friends, but not tiny, 8 year oldish size ^_^ I even gained a couple of pounds though mom can figure out where they are on me >.< LOL ^_^

School starts soon O.O

In fact, it starts next week for me, a week earlier than for my friends and the other HS students. That's because I'm taking college level classes and college starts earlier >.< BUT! I'm so hyped! Most of the classes that I'm taking are almost the same as the ones I took last year, but they're college level and more intense and count as college credit ^_^

Now, comes a tough decision. Should I continue with this blog, or start a new one? This blog as the title says, is for my high school years. But starting next week, I won't just be in HS. I don't know. I have to think about it some more. I know I won't be seeing my friends as much during the year. My schedule is so screwy o.o I just don't know what to do at the moment. But that has nothing to do with the blog. Maybe, I'll do a dual blog and cross post between this one and the second one. I did that last year. Yeah, I'll do that ^_^

Long time

Yeah, it seems like a long, long time since I've posted anything. I've just been really, really busy with stuff. I volunteer at the local art guild helping with the kids. I've been acting with a playgroup. I've been prepping for school. Did you know that college textbooks are so expensive!?!? One textbook cost about $120 O.O Yeah, very expensive. I've been through several orientations for school. Last weekend was Tax Free Weekend. That's where the state doesn't charge sales tax on stuff for school like clothes, school supplies, etc.

I had a revelation last night while watching "Howl's Moving Castle" (my fav ^_^) with Lee. Next year, I'm going to be 16. Next year, I can get my driver's license and drive legally ^_^ That is going to be so awesome! But it's kind of sad too. I'm no longer a little kid. I'm growing up. Sure there's tons of stuff I'll be able to do, like drive ^_^ But there's just as much that I won't be able to do because people say "that's for kids" and "grow up" o.o
