During my free time, I've been playing with Blender 3D again. I've been playing with it on and off since I took the Intro to Computer Animation class back in 9th grade. If you've been away from the program for a while, the interface can seem kind of intimidating. But once you start playing around again, everything becomes familiar and friendly again ^_^
My current focus is mesh avatars for OpenSim/Second Life. I've been working on creating a Drow girl and I think I have the body down now. I used MakeHuman to create her, but I'm using Blender to customize and clothe her. I still need to get her skin texture right. The problem is that the UV map for the MakeHuman avatar's skin is vastly different from the one for OpenSim. So I just can't grab an existing OS skin; I have to make one myself. So far, most of my skins kind of look funky >.<

Summer fun ^_^
It's been raining on and off all week. I was caught outside a couple of times by the rain. The worse was Sunday afternoon while I was attempting to mow the lawn. I just finished the front when it started pouring. I was able to do a little bit more before I gave up. The mower was choking on the wet grass and stalling every couple of meters. I was soaked to the skin and then some. It was as though I had jumped in a pond then went straight in the house. And, being Summer, the a/c (air conditioner) was on and I almost froze to death o.o
Volunteering at Art Camp is fun. A lot of the kids are there just to have fun. They're the ones you have to watch to keep out of mischief. A few kids are there to learn and improve. Don't get me wrong, almost all the kids want to learn cool art stuff. But these few are serious. And these few have attached themselves to me ^_^
I've grown jaded with regards to my tech toys. I used to have my Android phone loaded to the hilt with apps and I was almost on it 24/7. Now, I'm down to the basics on apps and use it mostly for txting with my friends and such. I do have a few utility apps, but nothing like before. The same thing with my iPad. I don't have as much on it anymore nor do I use it as much. I do go in cycles though. So maybe in the future I will rediscover my tech toys.
Yvonne's birthday was Friday. It was awesome ^_^ Happy Birthday again! Love you lots <3 ^_^ Anyway, she can get her restricted license in about six months around the same time that I do. Kyle got his while I was in the Everglades. Soon all of us will be driving and that's kind of sad since it means there's no reason for us to hang together as a pack. o.o

Summer begins
From this point on, I'm going to post less frequently than I have before. But, my posts are going to be an accumulation of the smaller, daily posts. So, instead of the one or two sentences every day, there will be at least one long post covering the time between posts. This is one of those posts. But, if I have something that I just have to write about, I will write and post it also ^_^
The local art center is doing its Art Summer Camp this month and I've volunteered to help out. It started last week while I was at camp. But it still runs for another three weeks. Helping out with the kids is one of the many things I enjoy during the Summer ^_^
Most of my friends have summer jobs. Even I have a job. I work with mom doing odds and ends and some PHP coding and such. She also lets me do some of the art work ^_^
Summer weather patterns are here. In Spring, early Summer, the clouds start building in the late afternoon and if they produce rain, it's in the evenings. They then dissipate. As the Summer moves on, the clouds start building earlier and earlier and lasting longer. Soon they last until the morning. Eventually, they last long enough to meet the afternoon clouds which start earlier. From that point on for awhile, it's usually cloudy and drizzly all day. Tuesday was a downpour day. It started out cloudy and got worse. But, by the late afternoon, the rain was over and the sun was out.
Sadly, there was no dance class Tuesday night. Our instructor never did find anyone to take over the class. We kind of disbanded which makes me sad. I really enjoyed the class and I doubt that I will find another one soon.

Home again, home again ^_^
I'm home ^_^ Camp was awesome even though it rained most of the time. Another tropical storm came through the Gulf I think. It missed us, but we still got the effects of it. This morning was probably the first day that had no rain clouds. It's like they came for camp too and left early. Yup. They were waiting for me at home >.< LOL Tom, Jack, and Sasha were all happy when I got home ^_^ I got pounce and rubbed and everything from all three at the same time. My butt is still a little sore from when Jack knocked me over.
This year was also kind of sad for me. It's my last year going. I'm too old now for camp T_T It seems that I'm too old for most camps now. I'll have to find something else to do next year. Kind of sucks growing up. But, on the bright side, I'll be able to get my driver's license in a few more months ^_^ So that's a plus. Not much of a plus, but a plus none the less.
Lee missed me a lot <3 I had tons of txtmsgs from him waiting even though he knew I wouldn't get them until I got home. We talked for like a couple of hours on the phone before mom made me get off--I needed to unpack, defunk, and put away my stuff >.< Anyway, everything's all done and I'm squeaky clean and smelling of coconuts ^_^ Lee's going to try to come over for a little while tonight. If things go right, maybe he'll inspect the squeaky clean, coconut girl and give his approval ^_^ LOL <3

Packing day
I think I've got everything packed for camp now. My backpack probably weighs as much as me. Come to think of it, my backpack probably weighs as much as me empty >.< lol ^_^ I'm going low tech. Only my smartphone is coming. My laptop, iPad, Kindle, etc., stays here. Swamps don't like technology. They seem to go out of their way to kill technology >.<
About my future posts. I'll be gone about a week; so don't expect any. Afterwards, I'm not sure how often I'll be posting. Like I said awhile back, the one post a day thing can be tedious when I have nothing interesting to talk about. Well, nothing interesting to me to talk about. I might switch to a weekly summary post instead of a daily post. But, I'm thinking that those posts can get quite long if I have a lot to say. I don't know. I have about a week to think about it more, if I remember.
Well, I'm going to chill out before I have to leave. Lee's going to be over to come with us when mom takes me to the bus. It'll be over a week before I see any of my friends and family T_T I love them all <3

Summer Holiday!!!
Yes! Today is the first day of Summer holiday! Today is play because tomorrow is packing for camp. First, I'll be doing the traditional farmers' market-breakfast-beach thing with mom in a little bit. Afterwards, after removing the salt and sand from myself :P I'm going to meet up with Lee and mall-rat ^_^ Much later, we'll probably do the drum circle at the beach if it doesn't rain. Need to go, Mom's calling and Sasha is demanding both of my hands to be used to pet her >.< LOL ^_^
