Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year from me and Lee ^_^

Yes, he's sitting next to me as I type this entry. He's going to spend New Year's Eve with me at my house ^_^ In their own way, my friends and I are all spending New Year's Eve together via txtmsgs and phone calls and such ^_^ The time is near and the ball will soon drop so I'll shall finish this post and join Lee and my mom and her friends. Again, Happy New Year ^_^

Dinner and a movie

I think that's called a "date" ^_^

Lee took me out to Taco Bell for dinner and then we were going to do a movie, but it was still early. Instead, we ended up at Michael's where he bought me this beautiful heliotrope crystal heart O.O He saw me eyeing and just suddenly bought it for me "for no reason." I love him so much <3 <3

The movie was the new Sherlock Holmes and it was awesome ^_^ I loved it. However it was more comical than the first. It seemed to have more gags and jokes in it. It also did have some dead serious scenes. Hmm, maybe the comedy was an attempt to offset some to more intense scenes. Overall, I did enjoy the movie and will be adding it to my DVD collection when it comes out ^_^

Legos, my favorite toy ^_^

Registered

Well, I'm officially registered for the SAT ^_^ Next, is the test itself. I need decent scores so that I can start college next year instead of doing 10th grade. The practice tests I've been taking have been pretty easy. So, I'm not that worried about doing well on the test.

It seems I'm stuck at home tonight o.o Last night, around 10:30pm, my sugar and blood pressure crashed and I ended up on the hallway floor waiting for mom to find me when she came out of the bathroom. ER. Tests. Low blood sugar. Nothing else conclusive. I spent most of the morning tracking down my android; mom turned it off and put it in my desk drawer. But I was stuck home all day and even tonight. At least Yvonne was able to come over and hang out with me this afternoon ^_^

Rain threatening day

A cold front came through today. Most of the day was cloudy and it seemed like it would rain at any minute. But it still hasn't rained yet. Probably later tonight or even tomorrow. Kind of makes making plans a pain in the backside o.o I spent most of today inside hiding from the non-rain and waiting for Lee to finish helping his dad. There was no dance class tonight because of the holidays. Most people were still on holiday vacation. But class will be back next Tuesday ^_^

Dad's visit

Dad left about 20 mins ago. We stuck around at the airport until his plane took off and slowly vanished from sight. I was soft crying ;_;

My dad was here yesterday for Christmas ^_^ He arrived around noon and apparently he and my mom had already planned this out for sometime now and purposefully forgot to tell me about it >.< ^_^ So there were five of us for Christmas dinner: mom, dad, granddad, Lee and myself ^_^ We all watched DVDs and talked and my dad asked to hear my guitar playing. Lee encouraged me. So, I ended up playing my rendition of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and much to everyone's surprise, "Love Me Tender" by Elvis. It wasn't the greatest, but you clearly know what the song was. Even Lee didn't know about that one ^_^ Luckily, Lee took over after I had finished and provided us with some better done pieces ^_^

Dinner consisted of sweet potato casserole, whipped potatoes, green (string) beans, cranberry sauce, butter rolls, ambrosia salad, cornbread stuffing, turkey, and honey glazed ham. The only thing that wasn't made from scratch was the stuffing and everyone knew it after the first bite. Mom says we won't be doing that again next time: home-made stuffing next time ^_^ We pigged out ^_^ Afterwards, we cleared the table and such and watched another movie until our tummies settled enough for dessert: pumpkin pie and pecan pie ^_^ Once we all finished our dessert, I did our family tradition: I sung a Christmas song. I chose "Silent Night". Mom and dad says I've been singing at Christmas since I was born, though, when I was much younger, it was more like gurgles and burps LOL ^_^

Dad and I drove Lee home, Christmas kiss between Lee and I, another, another, another, then Lee cracked up and took my Mistletoe hat off me LOL ^_^ I was getting sad again because I just left Lee and my dad would be going to his hotel when he dropped me off. I was wrong. Mom and dad planned for him to stay the night with us and again forgot to tell me about it >.< I love them soo much <3 <3 <3 <3 Yesterday was one of the best Christmases ever.

On a quick side note before I post this: I think my dad approves of Lee <3 ^_^

Merry Christmas!

!!!Merry Christmas my friends!!!

My dad is going to be here today for Christmas ^_^ I'm so freaking spinning bouncy happy ^_^ I'm going to wear the western dress I bought Friday. No makeup though. Haven't decided what shoes yet. Haven't decided what jewelry either o.o Oh well, it doesn't matter; my dad's going to be here ^_^ And he's going to get to meet Lee and Lee him ^_^

Christmas Eve

Tonight was Christmas Eve. Personal family time is the tradition with my family. Just mom, granddad and myself. Mom did a lot of her baking today; pecan pie, pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread (made from my Halloween jack-o-lantern), sweet potatoes for tomorrow, etc. The house smells nummy ^_^ Granddad came over in the afternoon and we all went out for dinner. Afterwards, granddad needed something from Walmart so we went there expecting huge lines. But there were now; Walmart had all the check out lines opened for once. We then rode around the neighborhood looking at the Christmas lights and decorations and finally home. Granddad didn't come in because he needed to go back to his place. He'll be over again tomorrow ^_^ Mom did up the eggnog and spiked it for herself and added just a taste to mine ^_^ We then opened our gifts to each other in the light of the Christmas tree. Mom then played my dad's present to me: a voice message on her cell phone. He's going to be here tomorrow for Christmas!!!!!! I'm so freaking happy now ^_^ I don't know if I'm going to be able to sleep ^_^

Back in town

We spent the entire day out of town. We left around 9am to pickup my granddad and then headed north to visit my uncle in the ALF. Since it was early when we started, we stopped into Cracker Barrel for breakfast, lunch, brunch. I pigged out as usual ^_^ We then headed to my uncle's and spent most of the day with him. Since he was not going to be around this weekend, we did an early Christmas with him; cookies, candy, cake, exchanging and opening presents and such. Mom brought Christmas music, but I was thinking next year we should also bring a tiny Christmas tree for the table and some other decorates ^_^ My uncle eventually grew tired and we had to say our "byes" and such.

On the way back, my granddad wanted to stop at a military surplus store that we keep driving past every time we visited my uncle. This place was awesome! Out front, they had decorated their place like a building in a battle field. They had the remains of an armored car; not the type you see carrying money, but the type with a small turret and machine gun. There was also the remains of a military Hummer and an anti-aircraft gun and a machine gun bunker and a two meter long bomb. Inside the place was stuff; cool stuff. Lots of military uniforms and clothes but also tons of backpacks and pouches and web belts and satchels and old style tents like from WW2 and medals and name tags and shipping crates and stuff I had no idea what it was for. I would still be there if my mom and granddad didn't drag me away o.o LOL

After that, we stopped in at a western wear shop that we also keep seeing but never had the time to stop in at. You walk in and instantly, you could smell the leather. I loved that scent ^_^ Boots seem to take up most of the store. Expensive boots. Some pairs being close to $400 O.O There were also cowboy and cowgirl clothing and hats and jewelry. While there was a lot of every day wear and stuff there, there was also a lot of dress-up and special occasion things there too. Most had bling and rhinestones added, with the women's having more than the men's. The men's boots had beautiful patterns "tooled" into them while the women's were the same but with color added. There was a pair of woman's boots there that had a rose pattern. They were overall a dark leather with the roses done in a deep violet. So beautiful. So expensive. I did get myself something from there. A simple white cotton dress. I wasn't planning on getting anything but as I was looking through the clothes, I found it. It seemed at first out of place with all the glitzy dresses and tops and pants until I pulled it off the rack. It turned out to be embroidered and was simply elegant. It was a girl's size which would have been a problem except that I'm a girl's size. So grabbed it and tried it on. If fit nearly perfect but was slightly longer. Mom loved it even though I looked weird in it and sneakers lol ^_^ It was mine before we left ^_^

It was getting late by the time we got back in town and we were hungry again. Our favorite Chinese restaurant came to the rescue ^_^ It fed me egg foo yung and friend rice and hot tea ^_^ By the time we finished and got home, and walked the dogs, it was near midnight. I'm barely able to keep my eyes open so I'm going to post this and go to bed.

Enough rest

Tomorrow starts the holidays for my family. We'll be going out of town to visit my uncle for the day. His sister will be taking him home with her for the Christmas weekend. Christmas Eve is a close, personal, family celebration; just myself, mom, and possibly my granddad. Christmas Day is more of an open celebration with family and friends. Anyway, I need to get to bed because we'll be leaving early tomorrow; just like if I was going to school.

Famous commoners

Earlier today, I found this Tumblr blog: Writers and Kittehs It's about photos of famous writers and their kittehs. What I found so interesting is to see some of the classical writers, Twain, Faulkner, Hemmingway, etc. In their photos, these Writers appear just like normal people. Most of the photos of famous people are usually posed. But most of this site's photos are just like family photos taken in their homes. I just wanted to share this site with my readers. Some times I forget that famous people are in the end just normal folks ^_^

Warm water

Today was pretty much like yesterday, except a few of my friends came over. Yvonne and Kyle stopped by and Lee came by a little later. Mom still doesn't allow Lee in the house. So we all hung out back for a little bit then headed over to one of the ponds. Yvonne, Lee and myself went wading. Kyle just sat on shore and threw pine cones at in the water trying to splash us. I think Yvonne and Kyle are still suspicious of Lee. More like over protective of me after what Josh did, but they're beginning to warm up to him. That makes me happy. If Alice wasn't already my bff, either of those two could easily be. ^_^

Lazy Day

First day of Christmas break and Lee's stuck helping his dad the entire day o.o But, I think his dad's going to let him take off the rest of the week ^_^

I spent most of today being lazy around the house ^_^ Walked around the yard barefoot in the warm grass just to rub the lovely weather in lol ^_^ I also worked on some art stuff and my incomplete novel and played with the dogs and my cat ^_^ Oh, and practiced my guitar. I'm getting better. I'm kind of learning Elvis Presley's "Love Me Tender" song. It has a few chords that I haven't learned yet but I seemed to have picked up quickly ^_^ Now, to learn the words and I have another song for Lee ^_^

Last minute dash

It's finally chilly out this morning. It's around 10am and it's still 60F outside ^_^ Maybe, just maybe, it'll be cold for Christmas this year.

Mom and I got home like 15 minutes ago from food shopping for the holiday. Most of the stuff we bought was for cookies and cakes and fudge and Christmas dinner and such. We're going to have a small turkey and a small ham this year. Some years, we do a buffet of various things. A little of this and little of that and a LOT of those! ^_^ lol ^_^ But this year, we're going to do a simple sit down dinner.

Before we headed for Walmart this morning, mom treated me to a restaurant breakfast instead of the regular Burger King one. It's one of our local restaurants and it was done really nice for Christmas. The interior is wood with beams and such. So all the holiday garland and lights and ribbons and such really fit in and gave it a warmth. Even the ten foot Christmas tree was very nice ^_^ You just can't get the same feeling in Denny's or Perkins or iHop. They seem to be so sterile even with the holiday decorations. Just missing something.

Anyway, once Sunday Morning (CBS TV) is over, mom and I are going to go outside and do some final yard work for the rest of the season. While we don't have things dying off and going dormant, they do sloooow down their growing. So we can trim them back and mow the lawn and not have to do it again for a few months. Thus, the last minute dash for yard work and food ^_^

Dancing with friends

The weather has been beautiful the past few weeks and tonight was no exception ^_^ My friends, Lee and his friends and family and I all went down to the beach for the drummers. Us "girls" did most of the dancing while the guys watched or in Lee's case, played along with the drummers. It was fantastic ^_^ It was so exotic and primordial and "native." In the end, it was myself and Yvonne dancing; Hannah wore herself out and was sleeping curled up next to her mom. Even Lee seemed to be playing less and watching more. We had a blast as always. Maybe next time, we girls should where coconuts and grass skirts LOL ^_^ OMG! That would be hilarious!!!!

I've decided to use the "Family" label on this post in addition to the others. Even though my family wasn't there, Lee's was and I feel they're as much my family as my mom and dad. Even if I didn't feel that way, they're Lee's family and Lee is very important to me <3 <3

Another Friday night

Another night with Lee and movies and music and Lee ^_^ We're in between movies at the moment. So I'm doing a quick post before we get back to the serious stuff ^_^

Another annoyingly warm day today. Bright and sunny in the morning and cloudy and overcast and threatening rain in the evening. A typical late Spring, early Summer pattern. I hope it gets cold by Christmas. Yes, there's no snow or ice or any of that here, but it should still be cold for Christmas. Last year, it was really cold. We had frost on the ground and roofs almost once a week. It vanished once the sun hit it, but it was cool while it lasted ^_^

There was an algae bloom in the thinking pond. That's when the algae rapidly grows. If it gets really bad, then it sucks the oxygen out of the water and suffocates the fish and such. Dead fish everywhere, which in turn, rot and feed the algae. Most of the time it happens because of fertilizer runoff. But sometime it just happens for no obvious reason. This was one of those times. But it wasn't bad enough to kill things. What's cool is that when the water is very still for awhile, the algae seem to settle in to different layers. It was kind of eerie looking. I tried taking photos of it, but they just couldn't capture the layering effect.

Oh well, Lee's about to start up the next movie and mom's gone into her room.

Another book

I finished another Kindle "book" yesterday. It was technically a short story of about 6000 words. Written by Thea Isis Gregory,  "Locked In: Zombie Bedtime Stories #1" is of a woman that becomes infected by a zombie scratch. We see her change from her POV. What makes this story interesting is that she is fully aware of what is going on but is unable to control her body. She still has her full senses but absolutely no control. She's along for the horrible ride. Can you imagine how horrible it must be to kill and eat someone you love?

Spring day

Today felt like a Spring day. The sun was out with fluffy clouds floating along a a cool breeze. I was torn between wearing jeans or shorts this morning, shorts won ^_^ Down by the thinking pond, there were dragonflies getting a few more courtship dances in and butterflies flitting from one flower to the next. Even the anhinga was out fishing. I can't believe it's almost Christmas and it still feels like Spring o.o

Something to think about

I found this quote from Mark Twain:
"But who prays for Satan? Who, in eighteen centuries, has had the common humanity to pray for the one sinner that needed it most?"
So, do you pray for his salvation? If not, why not?

My SamAsh order came in ^_^

My stuff from SamAsh came in today ^_^ I ordered a tuning fork because I think it's cool and a jack adapter that turns the jack 90 degrees so it's not sticking out straight and some thin picks. I just tried them all out ^_^ The thin pick actually feels better when I use it versus the one's I first bought. It's actually half the thickness of the first ones. The tuning fork is cool, I already said that ^_^ As for the adapter, it seems like it's going to work. I'll have to use my guitar for awhile to see if it really does make difference.

I found this really creepy music video that seems to grow on me o.o You need to listen to it with headphones one though ^_^

Chili Dogs

One of the things mom got at the butcher's shop Saturday was 1/4 pound hot dogs. These are the big, fat ones. They make the greatest chili dog and that's what we had for dinner tonight ^_^ Of course they're too big for normal hot dog rolls, so we use hoagie rolls instead. But they're too small for hoagie rolls. So, we load them up with chili and cheese and potato chips (mom skips the chips) and whatever else we can find. Correction, whatever else I can find. Mom's just a plain chili and cheese dog girl ^_^ We also had mac & cheese, over which, I spooned some chili too ^_^ Nummy ^_^

Winter wonderland?

For the most part, today was a typical Sunday: breakfast at Burger King, Walmart, bookstore, dollar store, and finally grocery shopping. The unusual thing about today was the temperature. It was like 82F when it's normally around 75F this time of year O.O Tomorrow's going to be warm too. Just weird. I hope it get cold, not cool, but cold by Christmas. I just can't see doing Christmas in shorts out in the back yard. It's bad enough that all the Christmas carols and songs emphasize the cold and snow and roasting chestnuts and Santa coming down the chimney. We don't have any of that. Snow men? Nope. Sand men just don't cut it not matter how much you decorate them up. Snowball fights? Nope. Water balloon and super soakers. Even the stores try to rub our noses in the "perfect" winter wonderland idea >.< Grrrr!

Malling and shopping

Lee spent the night at my house last night. We slept on the living room floor. That "we" wasn't just Lee and me, but also Tom, Jack and Sasha ^_^ It makes me happy to see that they treat Lee almost the same as they treat me ^_^ Anyway, after Lee left for his house this morning, mom and I went out to the butcher shop to get some meat and hot dogs and such. We hadn't been there for some time but they still recognized us. That kind of impressed my mom ^_^ Mom picked up the meat she wanted and we dropped it off at our house, then picked up Lee and my granddad and stopped in at my favorite Chinese restaurant for a late lunch. We then hit the Asian market and spent the rest of the day just shopping and such. We stopped in at Best Buy where Lee picked up a set of cheap guitar strap locks for me <3 I just tried them out on my guitar and the work beautifully ^_^ We then did the bookstore and mall and Walmart. Finally, we dropped granddad off and took Lee home. Mom did give me and him a few moments of privacy for our good night kiss ^_^

Legos and anime movies

I found my box of Legos while I was looking for one of my shoes today, after school. That was my downfall for the night. Mom brought pizza home and Lee joined us ^_^ But as soon as we were finished, I dragged him to my room to play with my Legos o.o Eventually, he convinced me to put my toys back in the box and bring them into the living room so we could watch a movie or two together lol We ended up watching several episodes of "Noir" and "Mushi-shi." Well, he did most of the watching and I did most of the building, but he didn't seem to get made or anything. He would sometimes help put things together and such or caress my hair and the like. I doubt anyone has show that much patience with me for a long time <3

Anyway, I'm done playing with my toys for the night and I"m going to snuggle with Lee in front of the TV and whatever movie he decides to watch ^_^ <3

Another writing site

Well, "National Write a Novel in a Month" month is well over. I never came close to the 50k words needed. I never even punched in my word count which I think is around 20k. I just started too late and had way too many ideas bouncing around in my head. Next year, if there is one, I'll do much better and will finish the 50k and then some ^_^

While poking around their site, I discovered several other challenges that are about to start or are underway. One of them is 750 words a day. The idea is to write at least 750 words every day. What's cool about this challenge is that what you write does not necessarily need to be a story. It can be free writing about anything. I already do about 300 - 400 words per post here. So, 750 words every day is a feasible goal ^_^

They also have other challenges on the site. I think the next major one is January and it consists of writing a script by the end of the month. I never thought about script writing. I wonder what that involves o.O lol ^_^

Another cold front

Today was a beautiful day ^_^ It was sunny and like 81F during lunch and we all sat outside eating ^_^ By around 4pm, the clouds started coming in and the rain, but the rain didn't last long. It was replaced by a cold drizzle mist. The temperature dropped like 10 degrees in under an hour O.O It's still going down. I had to wear my hoodie when I took the dogs out tonight . It's supposed to be almost 40F by tomorrow morning o.o

I ordered some more picks and a tuning fork tonight. I also ordered a 90 deg cable adapter so my guitar can sit almost flat on my lap instead of hanging over. The cable was getting in the way and I'm hoping this will help keep my guitar from sliding off my lap >.<

New router

We got the replacement router today for our dying one. By the time I got home from dance class, mom had it configured and running. I just finished resetting all my wireless devices to use the new name and password and I'm up and running ^_^ YaY! and YaY! for mom ^_^

As usual, dance class was a blast tonight ^_^ I think Hannah is bonding to me and it makes me happy ^_^ I actually lover her. She's so sweet and silly and fun to be around ^_^ I have no idea why Lee gets annoyed with her sometimes o.O. Maybe it's the brother/sister thing. I wouldn't know since I'm an only child and such.

Winter?

Winter has gone and hid away again. It's like 82F outside. Sure, it's nothing like the summer temps, but it's also nothing like the winter temps either. This would be a perfect afternoon for a walk on the beach with someone special. Except, that someone special is helping his dad >.< Oh well, it's still nice weather for running and I'm sure my pups would love that ^_^

An ending

I took down my other blog today. With the except of one person, no one has been reading it for the past six months. I discovered after Halloween, that she hasn't been reading it either. So why bother keeping two blogs with nearly the same content. I've been cross posting to both this one and the original and it's become a pain at times. I haven't heard her scream; so I guess she won't miss it.

Other than that, today was a great day to laze around the house ^_^ Even mom did the same. We did do our weekly excursion to Burger King and Walmart this morning. I didn't find anything that jumped out and said, "buy me! buy me!" We also did are food shopping later this afternoon. I did get some wasabi peas ^_^ Mostly what I did all day was hang out at home and practice my guitar, or draw, or surf the internet, or just listen to music and read. I did keep in contact with Lee via txtmsg ^_^

Saturday

Our router died during the week last week. Well, the wireless part did.We still have internet with cables. But it's such a pain. All my laptops use wireless. Even the TV in the living room uses wireless to get Netflix. Mom ran a network cable from the router to the TV so we can at least watch it. And I have the cable from the back of my desktop plugged into my laptop at the moment. We're getting a replacement router Tuesday. So the world will be good afterwards ^_^

Anyway, mom had to run to the bank earlier today. We then stopped in to the bookstore. I couldn't find any books on ancient Egypt. I wanted picture books showing their drawings and art. But the ones that I found there were more history books than art books. I'm reading Anne Rice's vampire series and their origins were ancient Egypt. I was also looking as some pics on the internet and saw some cute drawings that were of cats and mice in place of people. What was really cool was that they were real drawings and not some modern person's idea.

Chicken soup and movies and intermission

Time for a break for a moment. It's supposed to be pizza night, but mom had a huge pot of chicken soup left over. We did chicken soup tonight. Afterwards, Lee and I went into the living room to watch Netflix. Mom joined us but finally went into her room to do some work, with the door open o.o I don't think she wanted to see the Christmas specials for Futurama and Sponge Bob ^_^ As soon as the popcorn is finished, Lee and I are going to settle in to watch some "Gunslinger Girl." Neither of us has seen it before but I've found tons of images for it on the internet ^_^ Anyway, popcorn's almost done ^_^

Sunset

Tonight, Lee and I went down to the beach for no reason other than just to see what was happening there. By luck, we arrived just as the sun was setting ^_^ It was spectacular! It was a winter sky, cloudless except at the horizon. Everything was golden red orange. And as you followed the sky up and towards the east, the colors shift and transformed into violets and blues and midnight blue blacks speckled with stars here and there. We just stood there, holding hands, looking at the molten horizon. As the sun slipped below the gulf, the darkness moved in to chase the gold downwards. By that time, my teeth where chattering and even Lee's noble act of giving me his hoodie didn't help. We ended up back in my room sipping hot cocoa with me showing him my virtual island that I had almost totally forgotten about ^_^ I wish there was a way for him to connect to it from his house, then we could visit on my island ^_^

Wednesday, November 30, 2011

Cold front

It's getting gray and cold outside. I think the cold has finally settled in for winter. Even the thinking pond is quiet now. I didn't see any turtles or birds or dragonflies there today. Just a cold breeze.

This morning started out gray but cleared up in time for lunch. Teagan and Mike were at lunch with us. And Mike and I were feeding on each other to the point that almost everyone was trying their hardest not to spew their drinks through their noses ^_^ I wish I could do lunch with Lee, but I'm happy to see him briefly before Humanities ^_^ <3

Mom will be home soon and I probably should at least post this before the internet goes out again. What a pain >.<

Books and observations

OMG! I just learned today that Anne Rice has a werewolf novel coming out on Valentine's Day O.O If she's done to werewolves what she's done to vampires, I soooo want that book! Hint hint ^_^

Observation: Fire Ants - Eggs, larvae, pupae, moved close to the surface of the nest after a heavy rain, possibly cold. Idea is that the sun warms and dries the surface first.

Observation: Egyptian Art - Have you ever noticed how simplistic ancient Egyptian drawings are? And yet, there's something about them that says that they weren't drawn by kids. I think I'm going to give their style a try and see what I can come up with.

I have dance class tonight with Lee's mom and little sister. I'll act on my Egyptian art observation later tonight or tomorrow. I need to get ready now ^_^

Rainy cold front

It's been raining most of the day. And it's getting cold. And Lee is working with his dad tonight o.o Oh, and it's cold. And rainy. And no Lee tonight. *whimper*

But I'm home and sipping hot cocoa. So two of my problems have been solved ^_^ I finished off Anne Rice's "Interview with a Vampire" a little while ago. I find that I tend to read several books at the same time. Well, not physically at the same, but on goingly at the same time. Quite a useful thing because of school reading and pleasure reading ^_^ Every once in a while, I'll find something that I can't put down and almost read it exclusively until I'm finished with it. "Interview with a Vampire" was one of those books when I read it the first time. I think it took me less than two days to read it completely. It was my first encounter with vampires other than Dracula. I don't remember why I read it before i read "Twilight." Probably because it was on our bookshelf and mom had the right idea of not have "Twilight" there ^_^ Now I'm going to find some books to read and play my guitar and draw or digi-paint until mom comes home.

Bad internet!

Bad! Bad! Bad!

Our internet has been going in and out all weekend, sometimes leaving us to use our smartphones. We have internet now, so I'm going to do a quick post just in case it goes out again tonight.

Mom and I skipped doing Walmart today; we didn't get out until late in the morning and Walmart is horrible when there are crowds there. Instead, we did yard work and such then did the bookstore where I bought Ray Bradbury's "Zen in the Art of Writing." I entered the National Novel Writing Month about half way through the month >.< I know that I'm not going to come anywhere close to the 50000 words needed to successfully complete it. But I do want to write regardless. Mom has a copy of Stephen King's "On Writing" that I'm reading through and I thought maybe I can get even more stuff from Bradbury ^_^ So, instead of writing, I'm reading in hopes to enter and complete next time ^_^

Anyway, after the bookstore, we did our food shopping which included hotdogs and chips for dinner ^_^ Mom gets the hotdogs with natural casing which *snap* when you bite into them ^_^ By the way, we had an early dinner and the hotdogs were nummy ^_^ I'm going to read some then meet up with Lee ^_^ Lee and I did the drums last night. This time, he had his dad bring his guitar and he played along with them while I danced with Hannah ^_^ We had a blast ^_^

Oversleeping mom

It's already almost 8:30a. Mom got up late this morning. So, instead of our normal Sunday morning breakfast and shopping run, we're going to improvise. We need stuff from Walmart, but mom hates the crowds. Now we have to brave them o.o I guess that's the penalty for sleeping in late. We'll probably get breakfast and bring it home instead of eating out.

We'll probably do some yard work before we head out to the second round of shopping. We still need to dig our Christmas decorations out. The past couple of years, we've had a small, artificial tree. This year, mom is going to dig out the large tree and only use the upper 3/4's of it. But that's only if the tree is usable. I'll probably grab the small tree for my room ^_^ Oh, we also need to get some mistletoe ^_^

Saturday morning and guitar buttons

I'm back from my run and all showered and cleaned too ^_^ I love running in the cool weather. It seems like I can go further with very little effort. I also don't have to worry about the dogs getting overheated. I still haven't found a running partner since Josh. He seemed to be the only one that could keep up with me most of the time. Lee's not into running. Skateboarding and bike yeah, running no.

I'm not sure what mom has planned for today. I'm hoping that it won't involve me very much. I need to start thinking about Christmas shopping for her and dad and my friends and Lee and my pups and Sasha ^_^ We didn't do any shopping yesterday for fear of being mauled at the mall lol ^_^ But seriously, it was just unnerving Thursday night at Walmart. We both looked at each other and decided no way. So much commercialism for a Holy day. People seem to forget what Christmas means and why we celebrate it. Mom and I aren't the only ones that see this. A good number of employees at Target also voiced their concerns to the corporate heads and at least got Black Friday moved back to Friday instead of Thursday night. Thanksgiving seems to have only become a day to stuff our faces in preparation for the shopping marathon that comes on Friday.

Anyway, I've been having problems with my guitar strap coming off my guitar of late. I've been lucky that I've been sitting when it comes off; otherwise, my guitar could be damaged or broken. I googled the problem wondering if I was the only one having trouble, maybe I'm attaching it wrong. I found out that I'm not doing anything wrong and that it is a common problem. So common, that there are solutions out there: guitar strap locks. These replace the ones on the guitar and sell for about $15 a set. The guitar straps have a "button" hole on each end and there are two "buttons" on the guitar. To attach the strap, you just push the buttons through the strap holes. The problem is that the hole is big and the button head is small. Like clothing buttons, the little button comes out of the hole easily. The solution: a detachable button with a very large head, large enough that it can't go through the hole. From what I understand, guitar strap locks convert the button and hole style to a secure snap style greatly reducing the risk of the strap coming off.

Post Thanksgiving Day

Yesterday was fun even though the timing was way off. Because my grand uncle's ALF is like a three hour drive and we had to be there before noon, we had to get up early just like a school day o.o We then stopped past grand dad's so we all can go together. Besides, he has a mini-van that I can sprawl out in ^_^ We head on up and as we're getting close to the ALF, we noticed that we're running early, very early, like two hours early O.O The plan was that we get there in time for Thanksgiving lunch/dinner and hang out with my grand uncle the rest of the afternoon, then on the way home, getting something to eat. What we ended up doing was hanging out with him for a few hours, ate dinner and then hung out a few more hours until he started getting tire. That gave us like three or four hours to kill before it was time to eat again >.< And to our horror, nothing was open! Not even the restaurants O.O Eventually we ended up at iHop for dinner where I had a stack of the cinn-a-stik pancakes ^_^ Ya know, they were almost pure cinnamony, sugary goodness ^_^ We then made the mistake of going over to Walmart after dinner. They were open, but their sales didn't start until 10pm. At first, it seemed okay there, but soon more and more people were coming in and all the stuff that was going on sale was being put out and people were actually setting up lawn chairs in line. I think we got out of there just in time o.o I can't imagine what the other stores are going to be like today o.o

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Even though today is a Holiday and there's no school, I'm being rushed to get dressed and ready to leave just as if it was a school day >.< Why? Because, as I said last night, we're going out of town for Thanksgiving. We're visiting my grand uncle who's stuck in a wheel chair for the rest of his life. We're going to do T-Day dinner with him but the don't do T-Day dinner. Instead, they do T-Day lunch o.o Sooo, we have to get their before noon and it's a two and half hour ride to get there and we need to first stop past grand dad's >.< Anyway.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Early to bed, early to rise

I found out that we need to be to grand dad's  house by 8am tomorrow morning. That means leave my house at the same time that I would have to leave to catch the bus >.< So, mom set tonight's curfew back to 9pm >.< But that didn't matter because my friends and I were trapped in our houses tonight >.<

Anyway, I took the dogs running this morning then showered and met up with Kyle and Yvonne at the thinking pond. Lee needed to help his dad this morning o.o The pond's been getting low from the lack of rain. I also think the animals and plants living there are gearing up for winter. There were a few dragonflies flying around for their means. But there were no dragonfly mating dances going on. Even the birds were missing. During the summer there was always some sort of bird there hunting for fish and such. But it's been awhile since I've seen any.

The weather was nice at first. So we just hung out at the pond and goofed off for most of the morning. It's surprising how fast time goes when you're not watching it ^_^ By around noon, the sky had clouded over and threatened to rain. On the way to my house, the sky opened up with no place to hide. We got soaked >.< Kyle had to wear one of mom's robes while his and Yvonne's clothes dried. Yvonne and I are interchangeable for clothing sizes ^_^ Once the rain stopped and Kyle's clothes were dry enough to wear, we headed downtown to meet up with Alice, Sheila, Teagan and Mike and of course yummy Lee ^_^ We spent the rest of the afternoon hanging out downtown until it was time to head home for supper. More rain after dinner trapping us at our homes >.< Cold rain. And wind. A cold front was came through. No one wanted to risk being caught in a down pour because of it.

Five day holiday!

We have five, lovely, glorious days off from school starting tonight ^_^ I have no idea what I'll be doing tomorrow. But Thursday, I'll be out of town. Friday, my friends and I will be at the mall laughing at all the crazies ^_^ I'll be with Lee Friday night and maybe Saturday or Sunday. ^_^

I did dance class with Lee's mom and little sister tonight. Afterwards, we all went back to their house since my curfew is at 11pm tonight: no school tomorrow, remember ^_^ We watched "Tangled" because it was Hannah's turn to choose a movie and ate popcorn and snuggle on the couch ^_^ Hannah actually fell asleep snuggling with me <3 I helped get her to bed after the movie ^_^ Amanda, Lee's older sister, gave me ride home.

I've looking at guitars at Sam Ash's website, the place where my dad got me my current one. They have a few inexpensive ones there, but they're smaller than mine. In fact, I don't think I've seen any that were 7/8ths scale there. Dad must have been lucky. But anyway, I was thinking about getting a lefty guitar. But the cheapest lefty they have are about $160 and are definitely a girly-girl guitar: a flower, a heart, a star, all sparkly pink >.< The cheapest "normal" looking guitar is about $190, way too much. And to be honest, I'm doing quite well with my righty guitar ^_^

Turkey soup

Last week, mom cooked up a small Thanksgiving dinner for Friday night instead of doing Pizza night. Well, even after sending home food with grand dad and Lee, we had tons of it left over including the turkey carcass. Mom decided to do something with the carcass today: make turkey soup. Not just soup, but more of a cream of turkey or a turkey chowder. It's very yummy unless mom tossed the giblets into it. I will NOT touch the giblets in any form or fashion. Period. Besides being gross, I just don't like the texture and taste of them. Sadly, mom is notorious for trying to sneak stuff like that under my RADAR. Oh well, I'm going to go play my guitar for a little while then help mom ^_^

Belated birthdays

Got home like an half hour ago and just finished my shower. We went out of town to visit family and celebrate their birthdays a bit belated. They got cards and such through the mail and email, but we could be with them for their actual birthdays because they live so far away. So, mom plans a visit in which we celebrate the October and November birthdays together. Other than being late, I don't think anyone minds because they get second birthdays ^_^ And we usually take them out ^_^ And they live in the country side with rolling hills and pastures and horses and cows ^_^ Moooo!!! LOL ^_^ As always, we had fun.

Two days into one

Mom and I are going out of town tomorrow to celebrate family birthdays. So, we need to cram two days of weekend chores and shopping into one day, today >.<

After Lee left this morning and my run, mom and I did some yard work, weeding the flowers, pulling vines off the walls, watering, playing with dogs and the hose, you know, normal stuff ^_^ We then went shopping for food and stuff. I didn't see anything at the book store that I really wanted and mom got some wrapping supplies for the gifts. We then stopped at Micheal's and I got some more stuff for the present that I'm working on ^_^ For dinner, we did Taco Bell ^_^ Yvonne and Kyle came over and so far we've spent the evening trying to talk in only French ^_^ Lee would have been over, but he had to do some sort of family gathering. He was still here, at least in txtmsgs ^_^ It's almost 11pm so I'm going to post this and sign off. It's been a long time since they've spent the night with me ^_^

Early Thanksgiving dinner

Publix had turkeys on sale and mom bought a small one last weekend. She was planning on cooking it up for the meat and the carcass for turkey soup. On the spur of the moment, she decided to do a Thanksgiving dinner instead with all the fixings: mashed potatoes, candied sweet potatoes, corn, stuffing, cranberry sauce and pumpkin and pecan pies for dessert. So, instead of pizza night, we did roast turkey. Mom invited grand dad and I got to invite Lee ^_^ I'm stuffed. Lee's stuffed. Mom's so stuffed that she's moaning lol ^_^ And grand dad wasn't sure he could fit behind his steering wheel to get home LOL

One of the reasons mom did a T-Day dinner tonight is that we will be out of town on Thanksgiving and spending it with my uncle. He's stuck in a wheel chair for the rest of his life and lives at an ALF. We discovered that his ALF allows guests to join in on the Thanksgiving lunch for $5 a person. We did that last year with him and are going to do it again this year. That way, he can spend T-Day with family ^_^ The food was good last year, but my grand dad thought there wasn't enough. So this year, he ordered two meals for himself LOL

Shush girl, shut your lips...

Do the Helen Keller and talk with your hips. LOL ^_^

I spent the evening with Lee tonight. It's almost impossible to see him in school except for a few minutes before Humanities or if I can get to his Language Studies class just as he comes out. He works on Mondays and Tuesdays and some times has to work other days too. And we both have friends we need to hang out with or they might stop being friends. Mom says, "welcome to the real world" when I complain. Anyway, we spent tonight helping me practice my guitar playing. He makes an uber comfy, cuddly chair <3 ^_^ I seem to be getting better, even he admitted that. Still no song beyond "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" But, hey, I getting better ^_^

This morning, mom reminded me about my online curfew >.< A lost friend found me right beside her last night: "omg. i see it now. MLE" LOL ^_^ We stayed up late, like 90 minutes past my curfew. While I didn't get clipped or even scolded, I did get a reminder. Anyway, since I said, "Taytay," just now, she gets another tag :P ^_^

What the heck happened to the cold O.O?

It was like 90F/32C here today O.O That's summer temps. But this is also Florida and the winter comes in slowly, in waves. Once the process starts, it almost never stops until Spring. But I was so hoping for the cold weather. Florida in the winter is dark green. Maybe some trees have lost their leaves, but for the most part, everything remains green. We do have tiny white flowers that grow in large blankets in the grass and they could be mistook for frost at a casual glance. There is also a scrub tree that blossoms this time of year, and it's flowers are tiny and white and frost like from a distance. I'll try to take some pics of them if I remember. We don't have the normal color change here either. No flaming trees of red and orange and yellow. No mounds of leaves either. Trees that do drop their leaves simply go from green to brown to bare. Instead, we have flowers and bushes that bloom in yellows and violets and blues and oranges and reds. We have entire trees that are covered with blossoms. We have bougainvilleas who's leaves change from green to red and become the flowers for the bush. We're also a way station for the migrating birds and their colors.

Dancing with Hannah

Dance class was tonight. I decided to go and mom gave me permission since my fever was gone all day ^_^ Lee's mom and Hannah picked me up like last week. The class was almost the same, but with different moves and such. It was just as awesome as last week ^_^ However this week's class didn't end with solos. Instead it ended with pairs. One of those pairs was Hannah and me and we had a blast ^_^ I think some of my hyperness wore off on her cause she was all bouncy and giggling at McD's and Lee's mom was shaking her head and sighing at the fact that she'll have to figure a way to get Hannah to sleep tonight ^_^ If she is anything like me at 7, she'll probably be snoring before she gets home. And then the fun of dragging her in and getting her changed and in bed o.o

Fever!

"You give me fever (you give me fever) when you kiss me
Fever when you hold me tight (you give me fever)
Fever ... in the mornin'
Fever all through the night"

Yup, I have a slight fever o.o So I got stuck inside after school today. Yvonne and Kyle hung out awhile with me but they had to leave for dinner. Alice stopped by around 7pm but couldn't stay long cause her curfew is 8pm. But, at least they stopped by and kept me company. Lee was stuck working but I have tons of txtmsgs from him ^_^ <3 So, while I didn't get to do anything I wanted to, I wasn't lonely ^_^ Love you guys! <3 <3

Gift idea ^_^

Mom and I did our typical Sunday shopping run: Walmart, Burger King, bookstore, dollar store and grocery store. I've had an idea for a very personal gift for some time now but kept forgetting about it. Well, today, while at the bookstore I saw exactly what I needed for the foundation of the gift and snatched it up immediately ^_^ I also grabbed the latest issue of Juxtapoz magazine lol ^_^ Now that I've got the foundation, the ideas are running rampant through my head. It's going to be a play on words as are all my special gifts. And It's going to be for Lee.

Saturday shopping

Mom and I did some shopping today with granddad. We need some Asian foods and stuff. So we did the Asian market but after we did Chinese for a late lunch. We then did the bookstore because Books-a-Million had a 20% sale going on. We didn't buy anything. Got some ice cream at DQ; hot fudge sunday for me ^_^ Did a couple more stores then back to granddad's to look at his computer. Finally, home.

My bed feels all warms and toasty, but I miss Lee.

Tis a chilly morning

Lee's still asleep and regardless how much I love snuggling, I couldn't sit still for long. Dogs. Yes, two of them that needed to go out. Out in to the cold morning air, dragging me along behind >.< Now, I'm fully awake and Lee isn't. He does make a warm and cozy prop for me as I make this entry and he's ever so cute when he sleeps ^_^

Mom's plan for today is to pick up some stuff from the Asian market, some normal shopping and maybe visit granddad again. She's trying to bring him in to the modern world with Amazon's cloud player and needs to show him how to use it. Very important, since she gifted him an mp3 album from there ^_^ Maybe we will also do the bookstore too.

I smell coffee ^_^ Mom will be awake soon after I give her her coffee. I will soon be hyper after I make myself a cup of mocha: I add instant hot cocoa mix to my coffee ^_^

Pizza night with movies

I want to post before I forget. So Lee's waiting for me to finish before we watch the next movie on Netflix.

It's pizza night and Lee joined mom and me tonight ^_^ Afterwards, mom made hot cocoa the old fashion way: in a pot with cocoa powder, sugar and milk on the stove ^_^ She then took hers into her room and left Lee and I in the living room to snuggle up and watch movies. Horror movies ^_^ We just finished watching one based upon Lovecraft's "Dreams in the Witch House" which seem to have the Lovecraft twist at the end ^_^ Then next movie that Lee found was "The Dunwich Horror" another Lovecraft classic. He also found Lovecraft's "Dagon" So now you know where I'll be for awhile, perhaps the rest of the night if I'm lucky ^_^ Anyway, I'm sure he's getting impatient and I know that I'm getting a chill that needs to be snuggled away ^_^

Blues guitar

I spent the afternoon and evening over at Lee's practicing my guitar and talking and snuggling and kissing. But you probably could have guessed that ^_^ Anyway, he's becoming more serious about teaching me what he knows about playing. He's beginning to pickup on when I just want to play around with my guitar and when I'm really trying to learn ^_^ Hannah seems to be trying to learn too. But Lee thinks she's just imitating her new hero: me O.O I'm actually someone's here ^_^ Anyway, I'm trying to learn blues guitar. It's slower than pop and rock and such. Country is also a good style to learn, but I like blues and jazz more ^_^ Of course, my liking of blues confuses Lee who now has to adjust he teaching style ^_^ But! He is making the effort ^_^ Something about blues makes me want to play along. Hugh Laurie, Dr House from the TV serious "House" has an album of him playing blues songs. There was even a PBS special with him playing, but I think that was about either New Orleans or the Blues in general. I think both. I think they're one in the same. I don't know why, I just do.

Anyway, I have some practice to do now. An online penpal suggested that I learn the intro to The Black Key's "Next Girl" I'm listening to that song now. It sounds easy and has a lot of repetitive notes and stanzas. I also have some practices that Lee gave me that I want to work on tonight ^_^

Bittersweet email

I received an invite tonight from Google saying that I can now join Google+:

"Hi Emily,

You asked us to let you know when you could sign up. Now that Google+ is in open beta, anyone 18 or older can join. So give it a try and tell us what you think."

D'oh! It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have a GMail account and had tried to join once they went public a month or two ago. I was turned down because I was 14 and the minimum age so far is 18. I did find out that Google is working on opening up Google+ for 13 - 17 year olds once they get the proper protections in place and such. But to get an invite from them, with them knowing well enough that I wasn't old enough is just plain idiotic >.< Oh well, soon, Emily, soon ^_^

Out of curiosity, I ran one of my normal sized blog posts through a word counter. I'm averaging about 450 words per post. No wonder why 500 word essay assignments seem like nothing to me. I usually do close to that every day ^_^ True research papers are about 5000 words and some what more of a challenge, but that's good ^_^ The average, run of the mill research paper is about 1000 - 1500 words, that's about 4 to 6 pages. So what is all this word count leading up to? I'm trying to put into perspective how much 50000 words would be. That's the goal for "National Novel Writing Month." 50000 words by the end of November. Let's see, today is the 9th, so that leaves about 21 days. That's about 2500 words per day assuming nothing happens and assuming I start immediately o.o It also assumes that I take it seriously, which I don't seem to be doing. Otherwise I would have been panicking by now ^_^ One of the reasons that I started blogging was because Ms Lewis, my eighth grade English teacher, made it an assignment for the entire class. I was already keeping paper journals and such, be she wanted to be able to look at our journals anytime. Thus, they were to be online. As far as I know, almost everyone else abandoned their blogs after graduation. I now have two active ones that I cross post entries in. One is the original blog that I've been keeping open because an online friends used to read it. The second is for my friends in high school and such. Like I said, I keep the original one open for an online friend, but she's not around any more, so I've been thinking of locking it. If you're reading my high school blog, which is evident by the title, don't worry, I have no plans of shutting it down. I actually have a following on it beyond my offline friends ^_^

Home from class

And I'm hyped! Energized! Alive! I never had so much fun ^_^

Lee's mom and his little sister pick me up and we head over to the class. There's not many people there, maybe about ten, fourteen if you include us and the teacher. The teacher calls everyone in and we all stake our our places on floor,  Hannah's next to me and her mom's behind us. The teacher puts on some slow, classical music. I recognize it but can't think of the name. I'm also a little disappointed. What the teacher has us doing is nothing like how Lee's mom described it. And almost as though she read my mind, Lee's mom moves close and softly tells me that this was just the warm up, "not everyone is running at 110%, 110% of the time." *giggle* She was right. Once the warm up was over, the music was changed to a faster, techo kind and we were shown various dance moves. Once the teacher believed most of us could do the moves, she swapped out music again and started choreographed routine using the moves that we had just learned. ^_^ Anyway, the best part of class came after we did several of the "dances" as a group. The class moved to the sides of the room and anyone that wanted to dance solo could take their turn on the floor. There were only five of us that soloed: the teacher, of course, two of the younger women, probably future dancers, myself and Hannah. The teacher went first to demonstrate. Then the two women, each in turn. Next was Hannah. OMG! she was hilarious ^_^ I think some of her mistakes and moves were done on purpose just for me to see ^_^ I went last and once I started getting into it, it felt like I was in a dream. I didn't really care what I looked like, I just moved with the music. And I wasn't confined to a small space like my bedroom and such. I had a huge room to dance and float in ^_^ The idea behind the class was to become aware of your body, your thoughts, your emotions, your feelings, etc. You were constantly reminded to observer how your body moved, which muscles did what, how they felt, etc.

After class, Lee's mom took us to McDonalds, her treat. Yes, another adult was blown away by how much a little girl named Emily can eat at one sitting ^_^ LOL ^_^ She then dropped me off at home, still munching fries, and I thanked her for everything. She told me that the class meets every Tuesday, if I was interested ^_^

Going dancing

With my boy friend's mom and little sister. This is going to be fun. Hannah will be joining us tonight and she's a blast to be with ^_^ I need to take the dogs out and get changed still, but I already have what I'm wearing laid out ^_^ Oh and I probably should grab something to eat and pack some snacks and water o.o lol ^_^

Guitars

There are some advantages to an acoustic guitar over an electric guitar. One of them is that it is very portable. No need to drag around cables and an amp. If I had an acoustic guitar, On impulse, I could just pick it up and flop down anywhere I felt like and play. Can't do that with my electric. I have to grab the cables and such and probably by the time that I had them all together, the impulse would have left me. However, my electric guitar has some advantages over an acoustic guitar. Probably the most obvious is that I already own it ^_^ Another is that it isn't as bulky has an acoustic. My mom would probably point out a third advantage: I can plug in headphones and she wouldn't have to hear my practicing >.< lol ^_^

It's been a week. I guess she's forgotten me.

Class tonight

I'm going to dance class tonight ^_^ Already picked out what I'm going to wear and such so I don't have to worry about that later today. I have a few minutes before I have to start getting around for school. So I'm going to play on my guitar. Each day, I become a little more better than the previous day ^_^

Uber freaky and mesmerizing

You have to watch cyriak's YouTubes ^_^

Little gator and horrors

My friends and I were down at the thinking pond this afternoon when I saw something floating on the surface: the head of a little gator >.< That's not good. Gators don't belong in our pond. It's a small one, maybe 100cm - 125cm long at most. But, still, it's dangerous to small animals and screws up any fishing. And, as it eats, it grows and eventually becomes a danger to kids and people. With luck, it will move on long before then.

Nowhere novel: that's probably what I should title my novel since I've gotten nowhere with it. Already a week into November and no words written, not even a working title o.o I've thought about doing a story about a wolf girl fighting a Cthulhian monstrosity. In the end, the monster would win because that's what always happens when fighting such creatures. You might escape, but you are guaranteed a terminal visit before the final sentence of the story. In Lovecraft's Man vs Supernatural Horror, the horror always wins. I probably should log into my account out there.

I also talked with Lee's mom tonight. We'll be going to her class tomorrow night. The class finishes around 9pm, but she will be giving me a ride home ^_^

Another typical Sunday

Today was another typical Sunday. After mom and I reset all the clocks, we headed over to Walmart to do some shopping. I got myself a pair of cargo shorts and capris. After dropping the stuff off at home, we did our normal grocery shopping, had lunch and headed over to my granddad's house. He got himself a new TV and need someone small and flexible enough to get at the cables behind the shelves. I was volunteered >.< We get there and he pulls out the old TV far enough to see how everything's wire. It turns out that my flexibility and smallness wasn't needed after all. The power plug went to the power strip on top of the shelves and their was only one cable to the TV. Oh well lol ^_^  Once we got the new TV in and made sure that it worked, he took us out for an early dinner. Afterwards, we went over to the bookstore by him where I found the latest issue of Blue Canvas, another one of my favorite art magazine ^_^ I got it. I also looked through the books on guitars, but there wasn't much of a selection. Most of the info I could get on the internet. But I was happy with my magazine ^_^ We then did DQ where I got a chocolate dipped cone, my favorite ^_^

I'm tired. It's only 9:40p but it feels like it's almost 11p No, wait. This time last night it was almost 11pm >.< Anyway, I'm going to call Lee and maybe practice my guitar until I fall asleep.

Tic Toc Tic Toc set you clocks back

Time changed last night. No, technically this morning. I was up until 1:30 this morning and got a giggle about telling a pen-pal that it was late and 1:30 and in about thirty minutes it would be 1:00 ^_^

We're going to my granddad's today to help him with his new TVs. He as one that needs to have the master remote programmed for. And a new one that needs cables connected and such which means someone small needs to climb around behind the shelves and such >.< We'll probably go out to eat dinner and maybe a quick stop at a few stores.

Wacom's Inkling will be out later this month ^_^ It's a special clip-on adapter that you attach to your normal sketch pad. You then use the special pen to draw and sketch normally. There's no cables and it's rechargeable. While you're drawing, the Inkling is digitizing your drawing, turning your sketch pad and pen into a graphics tablet ^_^ How cool is that! But it's about $200 too o.o

NaNoWriMo

I signed up for NaNoWriMo today. That's "National Novel Writing Month." Yup, I'm going to be a novelist ^_^ Well, maybe. I still have to come up with a story idea o.o Basically, the idea is to spent the month of November writing a 50000 word novel. That's about 175 pages. That is a big challenge O.O Even bigger for me since it's now November 5th and I haven't a clue what to write about o.o I had totally forgotten about it until a penpal of mine mentioned that she's participating in it. She started yesterday and already has over 10k of words o.o Anyway, I'm going out to lunch with mom and then maybe over to the bookstore.

Morning chill

It was chilly this morning O.O But perfect for running with my pups ^_^ And that where I just got back from. The ponds had little streams of mist rising from them, kind of like miniature smoke plumes. And there were patches of mist across some of the paths. At one place the mist was over top of everything and it was like running in a tunnel ^_^ I did over 5k this morning but no where near 10k.

I guess mom's and my morning beach trips have officially ended until next summer. Even Yvonne has stopped going doing the beach in the mornings. Her brothers still go for the fishing and such, but I'm sure they'll stop going once it gets really cold.

No drummers tonight

Well, after we wolfed down the pizza, Lee and I headed over to the beach. Or at least that's what we started to do. I stepped outside, froze, and dashed back in for a hoodie >.< It was cold outside. Then we, headed over to the beach. But the drummers weren't there. So we hit the coffee shop for some hot cocoa and mocha. Alice and Sheila were there thinking the same thing ^_^ We all then headed back to the beach. We lay claim to the spot and if you can imagine the typical kids on the beach at night scene from a movie, then you would have an idea what it was like. Except, no fire. Fires aren't permitted on the beach >.< And, no alcohol or drugs or cigarettes. None of us do that stuff.

It was a nice night ^_^ The moon was half full and there was this gossamar layer of clouds racing across the sky. It was like someone was pulling a lace veil across the moon. So pretty. The sound of the surf raised by a slight wind. An occasional gust would chill me and send me deeper into Lee's yummy warmth. Alice and Sheila were snuggled together ^_^ I need to find out from Lee how he feels about Alice and Sheila. seriously feels. I could have stayed there all night if it wasn't for curfew. Alice and Sheila were the first to leave o.o Soon, Lee and I followed. o.o

When I got home, I txted him a simple 'hi' and he replied with an ascii rose: @}-,-`-

Waiting for mom

Lee will be over in a little while and we're going to wait for mom and the pizza out back. It's too nice outside to stay inside and, besides, Lee isn't allowed in the house when mom's not here. Yet. ^_^ Probably Tom and Jack will join us too. They seem to get along with Lee which is good ^_^

I'm sketching random things at the moment. I need more practice because I seem out of shape. Sasha makes a good moving target. She must have ESP because every time I see her being very still and think to myself, "sketch her before she moves," she looks at me and moves >.< I lover her <3

OMG! She's awesome!

A chill in the air

It's morning and I've finished playing around with my guitar. Lee will be here for pizza tonight. Afterwards, we're going to wander down to the beach to see if the drummers are there tonight. They sometimes do an impromptu gathering on Friday nights ^_^ I feel like dancing ^_^ And if not with the drummers tonight then maybe somewhere more private <3 Anyway, Tom's nomming my foot, so I guess it's time to get ready for the bus. We're having tacos for lunch! YaY! lol ^_^

Mocha and cocoa kisses <3

Met up with Lee at the coffee shop where he bought me a hot cocoa and a couple of white chocolate chip macadamia cookies and himself a mocha. The movie "Puss in Boots" is showing at the theater and we're trying to decide if we want to go see it this weekend. He's going to see if he can come over for pizza tomorrow night. Mom has no problem with him coming over. So he has to check with his parents. Anyway, we headed over to the monkey bars and kept sneaking kisses as we talked, almost whispering, about nothing in particular. I think. No. I want him around forever. Is that a selfish thing to desire?

Another day, another musical note

Carefully folded and placed in the crack of my locker today was another blue musical note. Lee's personal invite to meet up with him after school ^_^ It's funny how he still puts it in the crack of my locker door even though we both know each other's lock combos. So, anyway, I'm going to meet up with him in a little bit at the coffee shop downtown. Hot cocoa sounds nummy right now though I only need his company to warm me up from my the top of my head to the tips of my toes ^_^

It looks like this weekend is going to be cool and maybe even cold. I'm sure my dogs will enjoy it regardless ^_^ Sasha has taken to Jack and usually sleeps curled up with him when she's not with me. She is so cute ^_^

Phone call and practice.

Well, after school today, I get this call from Lee's mom. I'm kind of excited because I have no idea why she was calling. It turns out that she was inviting me to one of her free-style dance classes. She noticed the way I move and walk and such and thought that I might actually like the class. She started describing some of the stuff that the class does and I was hooked. I'll be going with her next week to one of the classes. I'm hyped! ^_^ I'm going to need to find something to wear to the class this weekend ^_^

So, I'm going to go back to practicing playing my guitar now. I seem to be getting better at it. I know that I'm more confident about playing it in front of people. Lee won't let me use my headphones when I practice. He doesn't care if it sounds horrible when I practice. He says that so far everything I mess up on now will get better as I practice more. He also said that I sometimes seem to zone out when I play and it is when I'm zoning that I play the best. I think I understand why and it has to do with the Zen mind. So when he's here and I'm playing, like tonight, I pull the headphones out and turn down the amp so as not to bother mom and just play.

Jack's home!

Not my dog, Jack, he's always home. I'm talking about my Jack-o-lantern ^_^ I picked him, and some candy, up at Yvonne's tonight. Most of the Halloween decorations were gone. It's so weird. They were just there last night and now, POOF! Yvonne kept Jack safe for me. The other jack-o-lanterns are huddled on the edge of her yard protecting it from monsters and such. Jack is doing the same duty at my home now ^_^ Yvonne and I just hung out at her house for a couple of hours. I wanted to catch Lee at work. So we both headed downtown. Correction, the three of us headed downtown: Yvonne, myself and Jack ^_^ I left my Hi-Fructose magazine with Yvonne for her to look through. I'm sure we got a few strange looks in town ^_^ So we watched Lee helping his dad from a safe, non-volunteering distance. After awhile, Yvonne decided to head home and Jack and I decided to head home too. After saying our "byes" (not 'good-byes' because those are forever), Lee said his mom wanted to talk with me and he wanted my permission to give her my number. I said okay with my puppy dog head tilt. I don't mind parents having my phone number, I was just curious as to what she wanted. I guess I'll find out if she calls o.O.

Halloween leftovers and such

Yup, that's a great title >.< Anyway...

Halloween is done and over. Yvonne saved off my jack-o-lantern from last night and I'll be picking it up in a little bit. Along with any leftover candy and such ^_^ Lee probably won't be able to be with me tonight; he's going to be helping his dad. Maybe I'll wander over and watch from a safe, non-volunteering distance lol ^_^

It's like 82F outside now, but there's a breeze blowing just enough to give me a chill. It was clear most of the day. But the moment i get home, poof! it starts growing overcast >.< It doesn't feel like rain though. Probably just winter clouds doing a test run.

Halloween Party Part 2

The party was a freaking blast! I got to Yvonne's house and was assigned to carving Jack-o-lanterns. Not carving pumpkins. Not sculpting pumpkins. But creating jack-o-lanterns ^_^ As people started arriving, everyone did the final touches on their costumes. Mark and Rob vanished into the barn with various goodies; probably treats for themselves and their friends ^_^ Mom showed up around 6pm in her crazy-cat-lady costume which included a stuffed cat sitting on her head lol ^_^ Lee showed up about fifteen minutes later as an air pirate. He even had a stuffed parrot on his shoulder (which later, joined mom's cat on the back of a chair ^_^). OMG was he handsome <3 I so wanted to be kidnapped and pillaged by my pirate @_@ Teagan and Mike were beautiful together as zombies. Alice and Sheila were vampires. Kyle's ghoul costume was killer and Yvonne's goth vampire was to die for lol ^_^ More and more people started arriving, mostly little kids ^_^ I so want to have kids when I'm older <3 As soon as it was dark enough out, Mark and Rob, dressed as ghoulish butlers (think Riff Raff from Rocky Horror), escorted small groups of people in. The little kids got the silly cute scary tour of the haunted house. While the older kids and such got the full treatment o.o Alice, Sheila and Teagan decided not to go. So that left our group: myself, Lee, Yvonne, Mike and Kyle to go in. The twin ghouls relieved us of our Nerf weaponry before entering >.< While the haunted house wasn't professionally done, it easy beat most of the community run ones hands down. They did an awesome job. I was so hyped up afterwards LOL

Anyway, around 9pm I got mom's permission to go over to Lee's until 10pm and we slipped out with Lee's sister, Amanda. When we got there, Hannah was sleeping on the floor with her loot from trick-or-treating with mom and dad. She was so sweet sleeping in her sweets <3 Apparently, Lee's mom and dad were as exhausted as she was, that or we interrupted some snuggle time o.o Probably both ^_^ I had Lee get his guitar for me. It took me a little bit to get used to its size. And when I was ready, I gave Lee one of his presents: I played "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" for him. It sounded amateurish after all it was played by an amateur, but it was rather better than I was expecting. Lee was surprised and apparently so were the rest of his family o.o I forgot that they were there too o.o lol ^_^ Hannah was calling for an encore, but her mom and dad picked her up and took her to bed. Afterwards, Lee and I went into his room so that I could give him his private present from me <3 <3 ^_^

I'm home now, if that wasn't obvious and I'm thinking about Lee, if that wasn't obvious too. But I'm also thinking about his dad and if Lee is even half like his dad, I want to be with Lee for the rest of my life. Josh was a joke. I will fight for Lee.

Halloween Party and a special person's birthday

In a little bit, I'll be heading over the Yvonne's to help out with the decorations for her part. All of our friends are going to be there, even Lee. He promised and I just got a txt from him confirming it ^_^ From what Yvonne has been telling me about her family's previous parties, this is going to be a freaking blast! They have their barn set up as a haunted house and her brothers got some of their friends to help out in it. So, I'll be able to go through it and not know what's coming ^_^ Lee's going to show up between 6pm and 6:30pm. I already gave him his birthday kiss, but I'll be making sure that he has a few more before the night is over. We'll need to head over to his house afterwards so that I can give him his birthday presents ^_^

Sunday catch up

I spent most of today with mom catching up with stuff we should have done yesterday. Laundry, which I still have some in the washer, shopping, chores, etc. It was cloudy, but nice outside and we did some gardening also. Around 2pm we went over to granddad's to pick up some stuff he had gotten us. We ended up going out to for dinner and DQ and then some window shopping. Lee and I were txting the whole time. He seemed sad because he couldn't be with me today and I know that I was too. When mom and I finally got home, we found wedged in the front door a musical note cut out of blue paper with two words written on it, "miss you." Tomorrow is his birthday and Yvonne's party ^_^

Saturday Date

I slept with Lee last night O.O ^_^ Minds out of the gutter. We were watching "The Call of Cthulhu" on my living room floor and I fell asleep cuddled up against him ^_^ And that's how I woke up with him this morning too ^_^ He snuck out and headed home before mom got up. He didn't want to wake her. After mom got up and was functioning, we got breakfast at Burger King and then did some quick shopping at Walmart and came home. Around 10:30a, Lee calls and wants to know if I want to go to the Mote Marine Laboratory with him, he would pay for my ticket. Umm, let's see, umm, heck yeah! I've never been there before. He, his parents and his little sister, Hannah, picked me up an hour later and true to his word, he bought my ticket ^_^

What's cool about Mote is that unlike most aquariums and such, most of Mote's sea life comes from native Floridian habitats. So by visiting Mote, you get a rough idea of what is in the waters around the area. Mote also does shark research and helps sick and injured sea animals. It's divided into three builds: the main aquarium, the bird hospital, and the mammal and sea turtle tanks. The bird hospital takes in injured and sick birds and helps them back to health with hopes that they can be returned to nature. The unfortunate few that can't be released, are kept safe on the grounds until a new home can be found for them. The same is true of the sea mammals and sea turtles. They have two full sized manatees, a dolphin and three logger head sea turtles and a couple of hatchling sea turtles. I never realized how HUGE manatees are. I've only seen them in the canals and rivers, never up close and personal o.o In the aquarium, they have living exhibits representing local eco systems such as grass beds and mangroves. There is also a large tank with sharks and giant fish even a few that were injured and rescued. There was this massive Goliath Grouper in the tank. It was the size of a boulder and probably weighed as much. I've seen pictures of divers swimming next to one and being dwarfed by it's size. There was also a preserved giant squid there named "Molly." In the live fish tanks there were rays and crabs and jellyfish and sea horses and itsy bitsy tiny baby sea horses. Of course they where in a special tank to keep them from being eaten by everything else. But they were so cute ^_^

After doing Mote, Lee, and his parents, took me to dinner, again, his treat. They ordered portabella mushroom appetizer that was to die for. For dinner, I had penne pasta with mushrooms, artichoke hears, sundried tomaties, olives and olive oil and garlic. OMG was my tummy full ^_^ I ended up taking home a doggy box ^_^ And again, Lee paid for my dinner himself ^_^

Afterwards, we spent the rest of the evening down at the beach with the drummers. Hannah and I dance the whole time while Lee watched us and his parents slipped off to be by themselves. After a while, Hannah thought I looked tired and suggested that I rest and that she would keep me company ^_^ She fell asleep cuddled up between me and Lee ^_^

Volunteers and a vampire romance

No school today! YaY! Or so I thought. It rained. All day. Rain. Grrrr! >.< To make it worse, Lee's dad volunteered him to help out. No Lee either. T_T So, I volunteered myself to watch Lee work ^_^ and got volunteered to help O.O LOL ^_^ My friends volunteered to watch. But quickly volunteered to be elsewhere when they were almost volunteered to help too. Traitors!!!! LOL ^_^ Most of what I did was untangle and run cables and wires and be a gopher for the most part. People keep underestimating my age. Oh well, I got to be with Lee at least ^_^

Around 3:30p, 4pm, there was nothing more for me to do and I ended up heading home before I got volunteered for something else o.o It's pizza night and around 6pm mom brought home the usual along with Lee. O.O He got to my house at the same time as my mom ^_^ Pizza and Lee, what more can I ask for ^_^ We munched pizza and such then looked for a movie to watch. Halloween requires a monster movie and I found one that looked interesting: "Let the Right One In." It's about a 12 year old boy that is being bullied. A new neighbor moves into the apartment next to his and they have a 12 year old daughter. Friendship develops, then attraction, love <3 She helps him build up his courage to take on the bullies. She also happens to be a vampire. Not those stupid sparkly mamby-pamby ones from Twilight. But a true night dwelling, blood drinking vampire. I loved the movie. It had a happy ending too. That's something you don't see that often in true vampire movies ^_^

Anyway, Lee's searching for the next movie to watch and I need to do somethings before he queues up his find ^_^

Three day weekend!

Yay! I get tomorrow off. Some sort of professional day for the teachers. I think it's a mini vacation for them actually lol ^_^

Anyway, mom moved my curfew for tonight from 9pm to 11pm Love you mom <3 ^_^ Lee had to help his dad so he couldn't be with me T_T But, Yvonne and Kyle could ^_^ I miss hanging out with them so tonight was all the more fun ^_^ What's funny though is that during the summer we could thing of tons of things to do on the week nights. Tonight, we all drew a blank @_@ >.< We ended up at Yvonne's house playing poker with her brothers. Her mom struck down Mark's suggestion of strip poker lol ^_^ There was really no winner since after awhile, the game desintegrated into silliness ^_^ I think the final straw of sanity broke when Yvonne pulled out her Nerf gun and shot Rob when he stole one of her candybars from the pot LOL ^_^ Rob's dramatic death ended with his final words, "avenge my death!" At which point, Mark takes the gun from Yvonne and empties it on Rob. Mean while, Kyle grabs what little winings Rob had and asks oh so causually if there was time for another hand LOL ^_^ Rob quickly gets up to object and I cry out, "Zombie!" Chaos ensues.

Like I said earlier, I miss hanging out with them. I kind of wished that we could have spent the night tonight, but even though we have tomorrow off, Yvonne's parents didn't so we couldn't. o.o Oh well, at least we had fun tonight ^_^

Hump day

Today is officially Hump Day lol ^_^ Well, it would be if I had school this Friday. Looks like I totally forgot that we get Friday off. Some sort of professional day. Either way, it doesn't matter because... I get it off! YaY! ^_^ I'm going to see if mom will extend my curfew Thursday night to 11pm since I don't have school the next day. She probably will ^_^

I keep forgetting how hilarious Teagan's Mike is. He almost had me spewing milk from my nose during lunch ^_^ I hope Teagan keeps him, I like hanging around him ^_^

I wandered down to the thinking pond a little while ago. All the large fish seem to have gone. Probably inside some bird's tummy or turtle's tummy. But the eggs they laid during the summer had hatched awhile ago. Now there's tiny fish everywhere. Way too many to be eaten all up by hungry birds and turtles. The dragonflies aren't as numerous as they were during the summer and the anhinga that fished the pond hasn't been around in a long while. Even the water is dropping. I left my footprint on the shore line today and I'll see how long before it vanishes. It might not be that long since there's supposed to be showers this weekend. Anyway, I guess summer is winding down for another year.

A man with a plan ^_^

I did a 10k run tonight ^_^ The dogs were bouncy happy because of the weather. They actually could go with me the whole 10k instead of cheating and cutting across to wait for me. I'm happy that the could. Lee isn't into running but he is into skateboards and bikes. I'm good with skateboards, but nothing like him and I think we're both even when it comes to bikes ^_^

I wish he didn't have to work tonight. He does txt, but it's not the same. Anyway, that's what he does with his dad. He helps out and his dad pays him minimum wage reminding him that he gets free room and board. It was his own money that he used to buy us dinner and dessert after the homecoming dance. He also pays for his own gas for his scooter and such. He even saved up to buy himself his keyboard ^_^ A man with a plan lol ^_^

If the weather warms up enough, Tom and Jack are going to get baths. Probably the last ones for awhile in fact since they usually get their baths outside. Sasha gives herself a bath and sometimes tries to clean one of the dogs or me. Sandy paper tongue >.< lol ^_^

Well, I'm going to go practice my guitar, so it's time to end this post ^_^

Discoveries and practice

Bonjour! Je m'appelle Emilie! ^_^ Can you guess what language we're learning? We stared French in my Intro to Language class ^_^ So for the next quarter, I'll be learning and practicing French ^_^ I aced my Spanish final ^_^

Lee came over after school to help me with my guitar practice. Since mom wasn't home, he couldn't come inside, but he knew that already and we planned on it. I brought my amp and guitar outside and he had is acoustic guitar. It was really nice out back. We practiced play guitar and such until mom came home. Then we went inside and just practiced playing guitar LOL ^_^ Mom didn't seem to mind me playing without my headphones. Apparently I'm not as horrible now as I was when I first started. >.< I wanted to go into my room and play, but Lee said the living room was fine. Besides it had more space. But I really, really wanted to go into my room o.o Next time ^_^

Anyway, while practicing, we talked. He wants to compose the musical scores for movies. He said that often the background music for a scene makes or breaks it. I also found out that some of the pieces he plays is his own creation. And one or two of the pieces were inspired by his muse, me ^_^ Mom commented that, yes, I was very amusing at times >.< lol ^_^ He plans on making a good chunk of money early on in life. That way he can spend more time with his wife and kids later on and not worry too much about money and such. He would also like to travel before starting college. You got to see the world to understand things he said, or something like that. I wish he could have stayed longer, but his mom was picking him up after work. He would have walked home, but he had his guitar. And it wasn't until his mom pulled in, that he thought about leaving his guitar here overnight. o.o Oh well, another time.

Daytrip

Back from visiting my uncle. It's like a three hour trip one way to his ALF. And even longer from there to  home, probably because we always stop for dinner. But I like the ride. It winds through the hilly country and the trees. We always get off the main road and take the back roads because of the scenery and such. The trees up that way actually attempt to put on their fall colors. The ones by me just change different shades of green or just drop their leaves suddenly. It's so beautiful up that way, sometimes I wish I could live there. Then I remember, no cell phone signal, none of my friends, no Lee o.o

Anyway, I'm tired and I don't want to push my luck with mom, so I'll end this post now ^_^

Homecoming

Home. Finally ^_^ I wish we didn't have to go visit my uncle tomorrow; I could have stayed out later and who knows what might have happen o.o ^_^

Lee showed up at 6:30p. Mom answered the door and came to fetch me. OMG! He was so handsome!!! My heart flipflopped a million times. He gave me a Hong Kong orchid and softly said that he remembered how I beautiful I looked wearing them the other night. Then, a soft kiss on my cheek *scarlet red* Mom sets the rules, gives me a kiss and hug and whispers in my ear that Lee was right. Lee and I head off.

We get there and my ADD kicks in big time and I'm blissfully lost in it all. Teagan and Mike are there. She sees that I dressed as she suggested. She also notices that I've personalized the "look" ^_^ Alice and Sheila notice too. Kyle was blown away and Yvonne giggled and said she expected nothing less of me ^_^

Ceremonies, tradition, protocol, all soon dissolve into a free for all of music, dance, fun ^_^ Even Sheila seemed to loosen up ^_^ I was still lost in it all. Alice did and reigned me in a couple of times; focused me; centered me. But I didn't care and I still don't care. Lee figured out what was going on and took over from Alice.

It was all over in a blink. Two hours vanished in an instant. Lee took me to Chili's. Expensive for him. Or it would have been if Chili's didn't have the dinner for two special going ^_^ We did dessert at DQ, then he took me home, walked me to the door, but paused in the shadows for a kiss or two or three or more ^_^ <3 <3 So it took us like five or ten minutes to get to my front door. It's not the destination, it's the journey that counts ^_^

Another night to remember. And I'll remember it in my own way: the color and feel of the music, the blissful lostness. Lee. All mine.

Girly things

I'm posting this using my android. So it's going to be a short post.

Well, I spending tonight at Teagan's with Alice, Sheila and Yvonne being made into a girly girl >.< Tomorrow's homecoming and Teagan invite Yvonne and me over so she could help us with our makeup and such. At the last minute, Teagan decided it should be a girl's night and invited Alice and Sheila over too. Soon we were calling our parents asking for permission to sleep over. It was granted for all of us ^_^ So, were all here being made up, nomming pizza and drinking coke except me. No one will let me have any caffeine >.<

Another first

The school and town threw a "block party" for us kids tonight. It was only a couple of hours long and was over by six, six thirty. I got home after school, grabbed something to eat and a hoodie and headed over there. Kyle and Yvonne were already there and Teagan and Mike and Alice and Sheila showed up later. It was fun ^_^ Around five thirty, Lee shows up. He was supposed to be helping his dad, but his dad let him come if he came right back afterwards ^_^ YaY! His dad is so awesome ^_^ We all had a blast, though I had to be pried away from Lee to dance with Yvonne or  Alice or both ^_^ Eventually, it was time for Lee to go and I walked with him part way. The orchid trees were dropping tons of flowers every time the wind blew. So it was like snowing color and I was dancing and skipping through it and he was laughing and smiling and tossing more flowers at me. And then, he caught up with me, lifted my chin and kissed me. Just a soft kiss on the lips. And my insides turned to warm jelly that butterflies fluttered through. He kissed me once more then had to leave. I just stood there, not wanting the moment or feeling to end and waved. I think I said bye or something but I might have just mouthed it. I still had a few flowers in my hair when I got home. I want to preserve them forever.

A friend and parties

Yvonne came over after school and we just hung out together in my room. Mom wasn't home yet, so I was able to play my guitar without headphones. Yvonne commented that I was kind of good for a beginner. Maybe I am, who knows. It doesn't matter as long as I enjoy myself. And, hey, Yvonne continued to look through my art mags while I played instead of running away ^_^ Eventually my fingers began to get tired and sore and I ended up lying besides Yvonne looking with her. There should be a new issue of Juxtapoz coming out soon; my latest issue is October. Yvonne wondered why all the art shows were in California or New York and almost never by us. I said probably because they think Florida is filled with nothing but dying old peeps. She kind of agreed. We both want to see New York City during Christmas at least once in our lifetime. Yvonne headed home when mom got home. Her family was doing lasagna ^_^ So mom and I had grilled cheese sandwiches and reheated chili for dinner.

After dinner, Lee came over and we took off on his scooter. I did remember to bring my jacket because it's getting cold out. YaY! Winter is almost here ^_^ We ended up at the coffee/tea shop drinking hot cocoa (it was too late in the evening for me to be drinking caffeine). I kept sneaking sips out of his cup when he wasn't looking ^_^ I mentioned that Yvonne's family was doing a haunted house/ Halloween party thingy and wanted to know if he wanted to go. He said sure, but only if I would go with him this Saturday. "What's this Saturday?" "Homecoming" O.O Holy cow! I totally forgot! OMG! Lee asked me to the Homecoming Dance O.O OMG! When I finally got home and calmed down enough, I told mom and she was so happy for me ^_^

Halloween costumes

I have a working idea for my costume finally ^_^ I'm going to sketch it out first before I elaborate on it ^_^ But it consists of a Carnival mask and long dress and appropriate makeup for an unearthly undead witchy feeling ^_^ Alice is going as a goth vampire: black dress, very pale complexion, black makeup and such. ^_^ Yvonne is going as a zombie ^_^ And Kyle is going as a werewolf ^_^ I still don't know what Lee is going as, but he doesn't know what I'm going as either. So, I guess we're even there o.o I still haven't come up with an idea for a birthday present for him yet. That needs to be priority. I still like the idea of playing a song for him on my guitar. I'll do that in addition to getting him a present ^_^

Red Tide

Today was just gray all over and a tad gloomy. A cold front is supposed to be moving in later this week. But first another tropical disturbance needs to pass through. What's bad, is that we have an outbreak of red tide and if the disturbance makes landfall, it will push the red tide and dead fish on to the beach >.< I remember when I was like 8 or 9, I would wander along the beach after a bad outbreak just to see all the weird sea creatures that washed up. But mom can't stand the smell even though it never really bothered me. I guess I was just too curious about what I might find to notice. You can't walk barefoot even if you wanted to: jellyfish would also die and wash up along with catfish (poisonous dorsal spine) and other nasty things that you could step on. Red tide is generally just toxic to everything. People with breathing problems such as asthma need to stay indoors because it can cause fatal respiratory reactions. Anyway, thanks to the red tide and the storm in the gulf, the beach is off limits for awhile. No drummers T_T

I didn't get to see Lee all day. His teacher kept the class late so he couldn't get to me in time after lunch. And he needed to help his dad after school today. We txted and talked like forever, but it's not the same.

Books, cords and a bracelet

Lee left a little while ago. T_T It's getting dark and windy and cloudy and he didn't want to be caught out in the rain. Anyway, he gave me a friendship bracelet tonight. He made it himself. Sure it was from a kit, but he customized it. Instead of using the beads that came with it, he used five different beads, one for each of my friends' favorite colors: turquoise blue, crimson red, sapphire blue, emerald green, and moss green. for: Kyle, Yvonne, me, him, and Alice. It looks so simple and kiddish and it's so beautiful because it was made by him ^_^ Once he finished tying it on my wrist, I glomped him ^_^ LOL He was almost fully recovered by the time I came back from showing mom the bracelet ^_^ He makes me so happy <3 <3 Then I asked him why his friends weren't part of the bracelet and he mumbled something that he was sort of a loner. Awwww ;_;

And now, for those who don't want to hear about my sickly sweet hunk... :P

Mom and I went back out shopping again. Mom was thinking about doing something different for Christmas and stopped in to Home Depot for some ideas. Afterwards, we did our normal shopping run: the book where I picked up another book that doesn't exist in Kindle format, Micheal's and Best Buy, where I picked up another guitar cord/cable, and finally the grocery store where we finished the last of the food shopping. I practiced my guitar for about an hour then helped mom with dinner. Practiced my guitar some more then Lee came over ^_^
