Hubble-print dresses, skirts, etc.

It's clothing made from prints of Hubble photographs. I love the Magellanic Galaxy Tights. The dresses look to be potato sacks. But the skirts are cute and I particularly like the Large Magellanic Cloud Maxi Skirt. And all the scarves are beautiful ^_^ But everything is so expensive o.o Oh well, adding them to my wish list o.o

Tonight is New Year's Eve, obviously. Lee will be here in a little while and we'll be doing the count down at here. Maybe my other friends might come by too. If not, we'll be doing the count down via txtmsg and IMs ^_^

Freaking cold

It's freaking cold outside. Add to it, the wind and the open windows in the house, and you get a blue Emily >.< Mom thinks now is a perfect time to air out the house, so she has the windows opened. I'm dressed in sweats and wrapped in a blanket, teeth chattering >.< It doesn't matter. I need to get changed so mom and I can go out biking and maybe to the store ^_^

Rain

Still raining. Down pour last night and all night. Yvonne is here with me now. Unlike my other friends, she can change into my clothes and such if she needs to. So she didn't need to head home this morning ^_^ I have no idea what we'll be doing today. By "we," I mean me and my friends and/or mom. It's too wet to go outside and I doubt that the drum circle will be at the beach tonight: this is a cold front coming in.

The End (Minecraft)

I have slain the Ender Dragon. It was freaking easy. Basically, all I did was take out a few of the healing towers with a basic bow and arrows, died, came back, and repeated. Eventually, the Dragon couldn't regenerate. The next time I died, I came back fully armed and armored and just took my time hacking it to pieces. My next excursion to The End will be to build safe houses at the spawn point and exit portal and to also retrieve the Dragon Egg.

Rescued

Lee came over yesterday and just hung with me. I guess he understands how I feel when my dad goes. I love  them so much <3

Mom, my granddad, and I are going to visit my aunt and cousin today. We always have fun there ^_^ And I'm kind of glad that we are going. Lee helped me a lot yesterday, but I just need to get out of here for awhile.

Leaving

Dad leaves today. We'll be taking him to the airport in about an hour from now. I feel so empty. I don't know if I want to cry or not.

Dad's here

Yup! He's here so I don't have much time to write. We just got back from seeing "The Hobbit" It does seem true to the book and the back fill from the other books. But I don't remember anything about an albino Orc. In fact, if I remember, there were no orcs in The Hobbit, just goblins. I liked the way the portrayed the Goblin King. They actually gave him some intelligence. I liked that ^_^

Chill day

It was cold again last night. We even had frost on the ground. But that was probably the last time it will be cold for awhile. This morning was beautiful once the sun came up and the frost vanished. Mom and I did our normal breakfast and shopping run. But we took our time and just chilled out ^_^

Oh, I almost forgot to mention it. My dad will be here Christmas Eve!!!! Yes!!! I'm so happy! ^_^ He'll be getting in early tomorrow morning and spending Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with us. He leaves out on Wednesday though o.o But, he's going to be here! <3 <3 <3

If anyone has found it...

My butt froze off this morning >.< LOL It was freaking cold out when I took the dogs out. Even Lee whelped when I came in with my frozen feet and warmed them on his tummy LOL ^_^

Mom, my granddad and I are going to visit my grand uncle in the nursing home today. We won't be able to visit on Christmas because he's going home with his sister for the holiday. So, today seems to be the best day to visit.

Yup! Today is Kyle's birthday ^_^ I'll be going over to his house later today so we can do a quick celebration. He and his family are going to Disney for the weekend as a birthday present ^_^ He's so freaking lucky :P ^_^

Also, today was the last day of school before Winter Holidays. YaY! And! It's getting cold. Winter like cold. It's 60F/15C outside now. It's supposed to get a little warm but then drop big time tonight. We'll be breaking out the comforters for movie night tonight ^_^

I have things to do, places to go. I'm going to try for a 10k run today. It's just to nice to miss the opportunity ^_^

Beautiful day

Today is a beautiful day out. Clear skies, sunny, warm with a nice breeze. Just beautiful. ^_^ However, there's a cold front coming in and it's supposed to be here either tonight or tomorrow. And then the temperature is going to go cold, like into the 30s F during the night. So, for now, I'm going to go out and enjoy the day while it is nice ^_^

Hump Day

Only two more days left of class, then Winter Holidays begin ^_^ And, what's really cool, is that it's actually getting cold now ^_^ I almost froze my butt off this morning when I took the dogs out before school o.o And, it's supposed to be very cold Friday and Saturday with lows in to the 30s F Now, that's Winter ^_^

Last night, I had this great run of good luck in my Feed the Beast (FTB) Minecraft world. Earlier this week, I found enough diamonds to make a diamond pick and an enchanting table. Last night, I finally made it to level 30 again and enchanted the pick: Efficiency IV, Unbreaking III, and Fortune III. How freaking awesome is that! ^_^ Then, while exploring more of the surrounding lands, I discovered yet another nearby village with a blacksmith. In his chest was: 14 obsidian and 4 thaumium ingots (from Thaumcraft). Obsidian blocks. Just enough to make a full Nether Portal. No messing around lava for obsidian. Yes! And thaumium is stronger than iron. I already found a thaumium sword. Now I have some ingots for crafting with ^_^

So, I build my Nether Portal and step through to find that it opens on a Nether bridge. You know, the bridges that span Nether Fortresses. My portal is actually on a Nether Fortress! I couldn't believe my luck. Sadly, I died several times before I calmed down enough to make a plan of attack >.< lol ^_^ I need Nether Wart. I need it for potions and to continue my research in Thaumcraft. In my brief exploration of the Nether Fortress, I didn't find any. I found about four or five blaze spawners though. So blaze rods aren't going to be a problem. The Nether Wart is. All I need is a piece or two and soul sand, then I can mass produce it in the Overworld. I'm hoping that my Nether Fortress has a few pieces of it. But if it doesn't, I'll start looking for another Fortress. According to the wiki, Nether Fortresses spawn along North-South strips. So, once you found one, you should be able to find another by just going North or South a ways.

500th Post

This is my 500th post to this blog. YaY! Who would have thought it was possible? Who cares? lol ^_^ I'm not here for post count or length. I'm here because I just want to post and talk and such. If I hit some unspoken milestones, then so be it ^_^ If I don't, who cares? :P

With Winter holidays upon us, dance class is also on holiday until next year, Jan 8th. So, nothing to do tonight because Lee is helping his dad. I think I'm going to stay home tonight and do a Minecraft marathon. I'm getting more and more into Feed the Beast. But, until then, I have some more "me" time to work with ^_^

Ultra short day

Today was an ultra short day. I had only one class: American History, my high school homeroom. After that, I was out for the rest of the day. A couple of years ago, I didn't mind being alone. Alice was my only friend. Now, I have Lee, Yvonne, and Alice along with a few others that can be fun to hang with. The problem is that they're in school still. I'm the only one that is duel enrolled. So, there's no one around until later in the day. Sure, I can get some "me" time in and running and such. But I seem to need more of being with someone than being alone.

Feed the Beast

I've been experimenting with it on and off for awhile now, but I think Feed the Beast is my primary Minecraft now. Feed the Beast is similar to Tekkit in that it also bundles collections of mods in to a package and then makes it easy to play. For some reason, I never tried Tekkit, but had no problem grabbing a copy of FTB and giving it a test spin. Recently, they added a new modpack: Magic World. One of the included mods is Thaumcraft 3 and this is why I grabbed that modpack. The pack also has all the basic mods that I like: Buildcraft, Foresty, Twilight Forest, Thermal Expansion, etc. But it was Thaumcraft that got my attention. I loved that mod but lost access to it when MC 1.3 was released.

My home at this point is in a savanna. I was thinking Africa and such. So, I have a huge fenced in area protecting the "house" if you can call it that. I used an acadia tree as a foundation with its leaves as my roof. I then used shears to collect more acadia leaves and used them to build my walls and such. I used wood slabs and fence posts as sort of a skeleton structure. The overall look of it is that of a huge canvas tent. It reminds me of a safari tent on the African savanna. It's been a while since I've built a house on the ground. But I'm happy with the results of this one. Kind of an airy, temporary feel to it.

Feels like Summer

Other than for a little while this morning when it was nippy outside, most of today felt kind of like Summer. Even to the point that I was dressed in shorts and sandals ^_^ It did finally get cool again as the sun started going down, but for the most part, it was awesomely nice ^_^

Mom needed some stuff from the Asian market; so we did that today, along with granddad. It was nice ^_^ Afterwards, I met up with Lee and his family at the drum circle. Once it started getting too chilly, Lee and I wandered around Main Street where he fed me yummy things ^_^ LOL

Smells like Winter

I was just outside with Yvonne and the dogs. The overcast has been burned off by the sun and it's warmed up a little. But most importantly, the air smells of Winter. It's hard to describe, but when you take a deep breath, you know it's Winter ^_^ I'm happy ^_^

Anyway, Yvonne and I are trying to find some movies that are appropriate for innocent little girls that us not-so-innocent teens will also like ^_^ Maybe "Howl's Moving Castle" or something else from Studio Ghibli. You can't go wrong with anything from Ghibli ^_^

Who I Am

Final final ^_^

Yup, today's final was my final final ^_^ It was in Music Theory. Like I said yesterday, this one was interesting consisting of both written questions and aural skills. Another easy, breezy final ^_^ Annnnd, I'm done with my college courses for the year ^_^ Now, all that I have is home room for a week, then Winter holiday! Yes!!!

It a gray day and chilly. A perfect day for snuggling. And even a better night for snuggling ^_^ Lee, Yvonne, Kyle, and maybe Alice will be here tonight. Also, Hannah will be here so that Lee's mom and dad can have a date night ^_^ Kind of puts a damper on what movies we watch, but not much of one ^_^

Anyway, I'm going to finish lunch and make my way home and just freaking chill out ^_^

Today's final was in Astrobiology, one of most awesome classes I've had so far ^_^ Final was easy, breezy along with the final project and honors project ^_^ Tomorrow's final will be in Music Theory. This one sounds like it's going to be interesting. The test consists of written questions and aural skills.

On the Minecraft front, I've kind of grown tired of Vechs' Waking Up map. Others have already completed it and posted spoilers across the internet. I did try to avoid them, but each little exposure added up. Now, there's really not much for me to explore on the map that I already don't know about.

Thursday night. Yup, that's tonight ^_^ I'll be meeting up with Lee after he gets out of school <3 ^_^

Four down

And two finals left to go. Today's final was in English I, another easy, breezy final ^_^ I don't understand why people agonize over finals so much. Yes, they have a higher point value for grading, and yes, they are longer. But, other than that, they're just like the normal tests. If you know the material, then you'll do fine. As for the final covering stuff from earlier in the semester, what's the big deal? You've been using that knowledge almost since you've learned it earlier. So, chill out a bit ^_^

In addition to the final, I turned in my honors project: essays on books that I've read for honors. ^_^ Now, I'm going to finish my lunch and bee-bop home in the rain ^_^

Three down

And three left to go. Today was the final for Digital Imaging I and due date for the final project and honors projects. The final was mostly on terminology and such with a practical at the end. I also turned in my honors project today along with my final project. Another breezy piece of cake ^_^ Color Fundamentals was scheduled for 2pm, but he said we could drop off our final projects anytime today. I dropped mine off before my Digital Imaging final. After I finish my lunch, I'm going wander back over to his class and see what other people have done. There are always tons of great works to see ^_^

One down

Five more to go. Well, more like four, since there is no "final" test in Color Fundamentals. We're just finishing up our final projects and turning them in if we hadn't already. Mine's finished, but I'll be turning it in during the scheduled final for the class ^_^

Today's final was in College Algebra. Piece of cake ^_^ As I was explaining to one of my penpals, the final consists of we learned since our last normal test along with everything from the beginning of the year. Since this is a mathematics class, everything builds on things learned earlier. The final in a way is normal difficult than an normal test. The major differences are the number of questions and the stress of its grade value. I think, if people are going to do poorly on this test, it'll probably because they stressing out instead of seeing it as a normal test. I saw this last week. The test was a breeze ^_^

Mom time. Lee time ^_^

This morning, mom and I did our usual Sunday routine: ate breakfast out, food shopping, Walmart, and home. But the day was to beautiful to stay indoors for long and mom and I went for a bike ride. It's been a long time since just the both of us went riding together  ^_^ I miss our bike rides. So this was something very nice ^_^ It was just so perfect ^_^ I wish we could have done it longer. But we needed to get home because mom was expecting a Skype call. I cooked lunch for us: tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches ^_^ Mom's on her call now and I'll be heading over to Lee's. For some reason, I really want to see him and feel his presence and him right now. We have no idea what we'll be doing, but I don't care. I need my Lee time <3 ^_^

Nummy ^_^

Lee treated me to McDonalds tonight for dinner ^_^ I got the chicken nugget meal and a chocolate shake. He got a McRib meal and coke. But, he also bought the extra McRib which is strange since he usually only eats on sandwich. Well, about the time I finished my chicken nuggets and fries, he pushes it over to me. I guess he knows me better than I thought because I was still starving ^_^ We then ended up on the beach in the sunset, in each other's arms. Another of those special nights of nothing to remember forever <3 ^_^

Snoring ^_^

I've been up for like three hours now, mostly playing Minecraft. I've taken the dogs out, gotten something to eat, and just finished making a pot of coffee for mom. And, still, my friends are sleeping. Lee is snoring and it's so cute <3 ^_^ I feel so safe when I'm with him ^_^

End of classes

Today was the final day of my college courses. I still have my high school home room to go to, but that's only for a week or so. Next week is finals week for college. Next week is also Kyle's birthday. Yeah, lot's of important things next week. This might be my last blog entry from the college cafeteria for awhile. At least until January when I start up the Spring semester. All of my grades so far are good enough to stay in the program. Actually, they're quite above what is necessary ^_^ My high school counselor wants to talk to me before Winter vacation starts. She wants to find out how I'm doing with college from a personal level vs an academic level. I think in the end, it'll come down to, "do I wish to continue?" My answer will be, "yes."

"Us" time

Tonight was "us" time for Lee and myself. For some reason, neither of us wanted to go out and do anything. We just wanted to hang out at home, together. And that's what we did tonight ^_^ So we snuggled on the couch and watched videos in the living room until Lee needed to head home. Sometimes, it's things like this that are special. <3

Reviews

This week is for reviewing for finals. Like I said earlier, next week is finals. I've never did a college level final before, obviously. I have no idea what to expect other than a very long version of our normal tests. In fact, we are given more time to do the final than the length of the normal class. That is for all classes. So, each class has a different final day and time. But I believe I said it in an earlier post. What's interesting is that we're also doing reviews of our professors this week, on scales of 1-5 and an optional written critique of them. It's supposed to be anonymous feed back. But, if you've been with someone  long enough, you'll eventually be able to recognize their mannerisms and styles. So the critique is not truly anonymous. I really don't care. I have no problem with my professor knowing it was my critique they're reading.

Birthday

Kyle's birthday is in a couple of weeks. I still haven't decided on what to give him. He's special to me but in a different way than Lee. He's more like a brother. No, a cousin would describe him better ^_^ His family throws the greatest parties. And you always feel like you belong. ^_^

Finals next week

Well, next week is finals week for my college classes. After that, I only have homeroom in the mornings for a week, then Winter vacation. From what I understand, the final for a class might not be scheduled at the same time as the original class, and not even on the same day. This is going to be weird o.O But I LOVE weird! hehehe ^_^

I never did finish my novel for National Writers Month. The furthest I got was about 2000 words before I changed my mind and started over again. Yeah, that was my downfall, constantly finding something more interesting to write about than what I was currently writing about o.o Focus, girl, focus! hehe eh yeah. o.o I did like the idea that I was working on and it was throughout all my attempts. The problem was that I kept finding different ways to examine it. Even worse, was that the attempts themselves didn't mesh with one another in a nice way. Otherwise, I could have used them as chapters in the novel.

Final mowing

Mom and I spent more or less most of the day doing yard work and gardening. It's far enough into Winter that we will probably not need to do it again until next year. The coolness of the day made the work seem effortless. Even Tom and Jack assisted with fetching pine cones and sticks and such; Sasha was too busy hogging her sunspot to help lol ^_^

Christmas is coming

First day of the December and also the first weekend of the month. That means the Thanksgiving and Autumn decorations come down and the Christmas decorations come out and go up. Only 24 more days till Christmas ya know ^_^ Mom and I got all of the Autumn stuff down and put away and most of the Christmas decorations up. We never have been into the heavy decorating and such. Sparse and minimal seems to be the way we go. You come into our house and you're not suffocated by Christmas.

After we got the decorations up, I met up with Lee, Yvonne, and Kyle and we did the mall rat thing. However, before we hit the mall, Lee treated me to a cheese dog at Steak-n-Shake <3 ^_^ We then headed over to the mall and hung out and window shopped and such. There was a wig shop that had some of the most beautiful iridescent hair. I have to find out if I can dye my hair that color easily. We really didn't do much else there. Though, Lee did buy me some dark chocolates ^_^ <3
