Dancing in the park

Buenas Noches!

I just got home and showered from hanging out with my friends. We met up at the park then went downtown and hung out for a bit and ate some pizza. We then headed back to the park and stumbled upon an improv band just sort of jamming. They were kind of older like around their 20s. Anyway, we hung around and listened and danced. Well, I danced mostly; the other two did tag team dancing just to keep up with me ^_^ I got the feeling some of the songs they played were just to keep me dancing ^_^ It started getting late and we ended up heading home. I'm still a little hyped from tonight ^_^ What's worse, is that I now want to learn to play an instrument. Maybe guitar or keyboard >.< I know mom would never let me o.o Besides, I want one of these: Inkling They look awesome! ^_^

Practicar el Español

Hola! Buenas tardes! Que tal? Como te llamos? Muy buen y me llamos Emily. De donde eres? Soy de los Estados Unidos. Donde vives? Vivo en Florida.

Yeah, it's boring. But I'm just playing. I need to find some more Spanish speaking peeps to practice with. Kyle and Yvonne are as good as I am, but that's just it. We all are still learning and can't catch when we make mistakes. A native speaker would though. Anyway, I need to change and the the dogs for our run ^_^

Thunder

A quiet day today or so I thought. During Humanities, there's a guy there that seems to be watching me. Every time I look in his direction, he looks away, trying to look avoid my gaze. I don't know any one in my class well enough yet to ask them to spy on him for me. I wish I know for certain if he was watching me or if I'm just paranoid.

It's been rumbling all afternoon, but when does it decide to rain???? About the time I get out of school  >.< If it lets up, I'll be taking the pups out running soon. Maybe later hangout with Kyle.

A new week starts

One week of school down and a new one to replace it. The omens for today seem to be interesting: being woken with slobbery doggie kisses. Translated: I over slept and the dogs were getting their revenge. If I stayed in bed any longer, they would have put their noses under the mattress and flipped it up, dumping me on the floor >.< Anyway, they're happy now and I need to start getting dressed for school. ^_^

Family visiting

We went up to see my grand uncle in his ALF today. We were going to take him out for dinner but at the last minute, he backed out. The place that we had planned on going is a BBQ place. The dining room is actually a screened porch so there's no AC. My grand uncle decided that the heat plus the humidity would be too much for him today. So we ate the cupcakes we brought in an ACed conference room. We still had a good time and maybe the next time it would be so hot and humid.

After visiting him, we did stop in at the place and at dinner. I had what they called, Florida pulled pork on black beans and rice and sweet potato casserole and baked beans. All of it was nummy ^_^ We didn't do dessert because we still had some cupcakes of which I'm munching on one now ^_^ We didn't get home until late, like 8:30pm and mom made me jump in the shower and get ready for bed before I came online >.<

Busy Saturday

It was a perfect day for being outside today and perfect for the beach this morning. Mom and I did our morning beach thing today and met up with Yvonne and her brothers. While mom chilled, Yvonne and I snorkeled and just hung out together. Every once in awhile, Yvonne's brothers would take a break from fishing and come goof with us. We eventually joined them and ended up fishing a little. Yvonne kept catching sheep fish and I caught a catfish. All released back. ^_^

Mom and I got back home and after quick showers headed back out again to pick up some stuff, cat food in particular. Sasha was almost completely out. Got back home and we made up a couple dozen chocolate cupcakes and while they were cooling, we hit Walmart and Publix for the stuff we forgot the first time. I got more stuff to make up another batch of trail mix and put that together after we got home.

Now, we're waiting on dinner to finish cooking: enchiladas and southwestern egg rolls. ^_^ Yvonne wanted me to sleep over, but since we're going out town tomorrow, I couldn't. However, since we don't have to leave till around 10:30 or 11:00 tomorrow morning, I think Yvonne can sleep over here ^_^ Mom still hasn't given us an answer yet >.<

Friday!

It's Friday! My first week of school is over and I'm ready for the weekend ^_^ I'll be visiting my grand uncle Sunday. So I have to pack as much as possible into tomorrow o.o We're probably still going to do the morning beach outing. It's sort of traditional. Yvonne will be there regardless.

High school is much different from middle school but much the same too. I like the concept of half year courses. I like that they give us more responsibility and freedom and independence. I also don't like that too much either. I still haven't made any new friends yet. But there are few people that have my eye ^_^

I've been playing with Twitter over the past week. It seems interesting and has a different feel for blogging. More of an impulsive, immediate post than normal blog posts. Anyway, if you're curious:  @MLE_Wolf

Butterflies

Today, at lunch, I kind of sat alone on the grass by the pond. Kind of lost in thought, I watched a butterfly flittering around me, stopping here and there in the grass, visiting the tiny white flower weeds. As I watched, more of the same type of butterfly joined the first. About a dozen of them flittering and fluttering around me and on me. At first they seemed plain, but as I looked closer, I noticed that they were as beautiful as Jasper and each almost unique in pattern. While watching these jasper butterflies, I heard the soft footsteps of someone behind me; her scent mixed almost hidden by vanilla. I knew she was watching me and the butterflies, more me than the butterflies. The butterflies scattered when she accepted my unspoken invitation to join. They were soon back around us, flittering here and there and inside me.

I found out later that the butterflies around us are called White Peacock Butterflies.

Lunch hickeys ^_^

During lunch today, everyone seemed to be talking about making out and such. Apparently Teagan has a hickey courteous Mike. So, of course, the discussion danced around hickeys. Alice blurts out that she's never had one before. So without warning I gave her one ^_^ She gave me one of the strangest looks o.o At least where I gave it to her, she can easily hide it.

Anyway, after school, I quickly took the dogs out running with me and grabbed a quick snack afterwards. I was meeting up with Kyle and Yvonne for Spanish practice. I hadn't heard anything from Taytay, so I did my own thing with my friends. I did eventually hear back from her, but if I had waited, it would have been too late to be with my friends.

Rain and Ack!

It rained this afternoon. My sneakers when squish-squish-squish. So, I went barefoot when ever possible for the rest of the afternoon. I need to bring in my flipflops and leave them in my locker now that I found out where that is >.<

Now, the ack! part:

I found out that some of my courses this year are only half a year long. They end in December and I start new courses when we come back from winter break. Humanities is one of those courses as is Intro to Literature and Intro to Digital Art. I need to register for the other courses before winter break or I'll be randomly assigned classes.

Humanities II picks up where Humanities I ends, The Renaissance, and enters the modern era. I could chose something different instead as long as it's a Social Studies. There is no second part to Intro to Lit. I'll have to chose a particular type of literature: English, American, Short Stories, etc. Or I could chose a different Language Arts course. Intro to Digital Art is the same. There's no part two. But I did see an Intro to Computer Animation that looks really interesting ^_^ I'll have to look into these further during lunch tomorrow.

Apparently I mis-heard Mr Hicks, my Pre-Calculus teacher yesterday. Pre-Cal is also a half year class and I will need to register for Calculus also if I wanted to continue along that path.

First Day of High School

It was awesome! ^_^

¡Hola! ¿Que tal? ¿Cómo estás?

So many new things to explore. The computer lab is up to date. The art studio feels like an art studio and not a class room. The seven of us have the same lunch period. So even if we all don't have the same classes, we all can at least spend like 30 minutes together during lunch ^_^

Here's some more info on some of my classes:

Intro to Language: Spanish, French, Italian and German. No mid term. Three major tests: Spanish, French, Italian and a Final which will be mostly German and some questions on the other languages.

Digital Art: uses Painter and Photoshop. Photomontage and digital painting

Pre Calculus: depending on how fast the class picks up on the information, we could be finished before the school year is out. If are finished, then we'll move on to Calculus ^_^

Homework: omg! I have homework to do! It's been so long since I had any. I'll be starting on it as soon as I get back from running. And I'll be going running as soon as I post this which is like NOW! ^_^
